What have you got that we haven't?

Impressive figures by the way! I really appreciate this kind of testing you apply.

@OldFart
That Machine is not mine.
I monitor the Gfxbench results. Some extras come out of the results . .

Another Card tested.
Uboot display works on the Sam440ep-Flex but not on the Sam460ex with DVI.
Workbench display OK on both machines.Needs a HDMI connection or DVI to VGA adapter on the 460ex to get Workbench. DVI to VGA shows Uboot on the 460ex.

Sam460ex results

@NutsAboutAmiga

Some bug fixes.
I will feel any slight improvements that may free up even a few cpu cycles on a Sam-Flex that I would not notice as much on a Sam460ex or you on a X1000.

@Spectre660

If I may ask, I have the SamEp mITX @ 667 Mhz (that bears only one PCI slot). I think that it is mPCI (not the same form factor in comparison with a normal PCI slot), is this correct or not? Will the PCI converter listed by Spectre660 fit? If yes, which GFX should I couple with it? Thanks.

OK now RadeonHD can be avail to everyone - SAMs, Pegs old AmigaOnes. I am interested to hear does it really raises the slot so its required to have low profile PCI-E card. Would that also resolve covering the second slot - PCI slots on SAMs are valuable assets

@Cool_amigaN

Your PCI slot is a normal PCI slot (and you ALSO have an mPCI slot according to the spec, I guess this is on the underside of your board). However, it's a 3.3V slot, so only 3.3V or universal card will fit. 5V cards are keyed the wrong way. This is just like memory cards, different voltages or technologies are keyed to prevent mismatched configurations.

The problem with a 3.3V PCI slot is that very few universal cards were made, the most common PCI cards are 5V only.

The PCI to PCIe converter will work in your board.

@vox

Yes, it raises the card up so you'll probably only get it to work with low-profile cards. I'm not sure what issue with the second slot you have. If you try to put in a two-slot graphics card this extender will not help in any way. But coupled with the PCI cabled "riser" posted the other day this would help I think. But then you end up covering the third slot

@olegil

Btw, there are all sorts of ways of increasing the amount of slots:

These could be useful for SAM460:
PCIe to 2xPCI and 2xPCIe: http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/pcie-2-x-pci-2-x-pcie-expansion-atx-kit.html
PCIe to 4xPCI: http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/pcie-4-x-pci-expansion-atx-kit.html
PCIe to 2xPCI: http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/pci-e-express-x1-to-dual-pci-usb-3.0-extension-cable.html
PCIe to 1x low-profile PCI: http://www.virtuavia.eu/shop/pci-express-to-pci-adapter-p29855.html

Example: you want more drives so you can't use the onboard SATA, these will give you PCI (and even more PCIe) slots for SATA controllers instead.

for the 4-slot versions you obviously need a spare ATX case, for the 2-slot version you need spare slots in your existing case, the 1-slot version is inline for low-profile cards (opposite of the one we were discussing).

Another interesting card, miniPCI harddrive controller (ATA, CF, 2xSATA):
http://www.commell.com.tw/product/Peripheral/MiniPCI/MP-6421.HTM

Would need a driver, but that should be possible.

FYI about SAM mPCI: I might be wrong, but, usually the mini PCI connector is not soldered on the SAM board.

@vox

This wont work on Pegs.The AmigaOnes wont work with DMA on the bridges and there is currently no OS DMA support for Sam440ep itx model PCI slot .
All full height cards will work in a normal sized case.
A single slot card will leave the next slot free for use.

@tlosm

0.55 is for registered users to download from the A-eon website.

The 7750 should be compatible with the driver versions 0.54 or 0.55.
The Sam460 Uboot may have some issues with Video cards from HD 6770 upwards.
Do you get the Uboot display on your monitor when you turn on your Sam460 with the 7750 installed ?
