Yup, this is the only drawback from this thing. You need to have kept your old controllers. There are other solutions on the WEB that are included inside an original joystick replica.
Another solution is to buy an old Wico joystick on eBay... These are indestructible! |

I often heard people praising the JIT of WinUAE, once I asked someone testing the speed of with and without JIT he gote nearly the same results.
A lot of speed in WinUAE is eaten up by ECS/AGA emulation, especially if you want to have a nice fullscreen display with fast refresh rates. Good support of GPUs with built in shaders might do more for for emulation speed and quality than any JIT might do.
But most people don't agree with me, they might change their minds when the JIT is finally ready but they won't feel a speed improvement. _________________ AmigaONE. Haha. Just because you can put label on it does not make it Amiga.

Do you mean the Wico "Bat" joystick? The Red & Black one with a square base, one fire button on the base and a 2nd fire button on the top of the "bat" shaped stick?
If yes, I must agree that they are probably the sturdiest joysticks I have ever used, and I like them so much that I bought a 3rd and 4th Wico "Bat" joystick, when I found 2 more of them for sale in brand new condition on eBay a few years ago. I really like them alot, even though some people prefer a more ergonomic shaped joystick, I like the simplicity of the bat shaped handle, and their apparent indestructible construction. Now that I have 4 of them, plus a parallel port double joystick adapter to allow 4 joysticks to be connected to any Amiga at the same time, I would love to play one of the several games for the Amiga that support 4 player mode. I wonder if there is a list somewhere of all the games for the Amiga that support 4 players?_________________ Amiga! Well every thing is done on the same cpu core, there's is two things that are CPU heavy, and it is emulating the cpu, and emulating the graphics.
If you max out your cpu now, then improving one will improve the other, anyway I agree that graphics emulaton may not cope in all situations, even after this is done, but I think it's going to have a easier job at emulating it whit in the time frame. I actually managed to break one of the electrical switches in mine many years ago. Swapped around so it's the base fire button I'm missing instead of one direction, but still a bit annoying.
Those "two copper plates and a stiffener molded in plastic" type switches are not exactly off-the-shelf parts, so I guess at some point I'll grind it down, replace the broken plate and use an obscene amount of glue to hold it back together. Can't say I'm risking much
Edit: Thinking it through one more time I guess it's stainless steel plates and copper stiffener, cause you don't get much spring action from a copper plate. But todays project is fixing up an old coffee grinder, so I'll leave it for another day. Last edited by olegil on 18-Dec-2013 at 02:34 PM.

Since I'm out of stock for now (sold 250 units during my promo sale) I'll extend the "pre sale" period until I'll ship again. It should be around the 20th of January, depending on factory's load.
To all my Amiga World friends, I want to wish an Happy new year! |

Happy new year to you too!
Do you have any experience using your adapter to connect to a mobile device? I would like to play Rick Dangeround on my cell-phone using a real joystick

Hum... interesting question. I tried on my Android tablet but the USB host does not seem to know what to do with it.
It's an old and crappy tablet running Ice cream sandwich so... It's not necessarily conclusive. |

| Hey Guys! This is it.
I just received the first batch of USB Joystick adapters, PCB version 3.0. This new version is supporting virtually any DB9 joystick ever made! Just use the flash utility to reprogram as desired.
Here is the compatibility list:
•Atari 2600 Joystick •Atari 7800 Joystick (2 buttons) •Atari analog Paddle (2 controllers) •Atari video touch pad Keyboard •Amstrad Joystick •Amiga Joystick (up to 3 buttons) •Amiga Mouse (up to 3 buttons) •Commodore 64 Joystick •Commodore CD32 Joypad (7 buttons) •Coleco Vision Controller •Intellivision Touch pad (16 buttons) •MSX Joystick •Sega Genesis Joypad (3 and 6 buttons) •Sega Master System Joypad (2 buttons) •3DO Joypad
This new hardware version was designed with compatibility in mind. Every pin is reconfigurable so new firmware can be built to support much more devices. Design will stay open source so anybody out there can contribute to this quest for retro gaming pleasure!
You can order them directly on the web site at www.retronicdesign.com or by sending me a PM request here.
Cheers!
