I'm very glad to hear that you have your Peggy back and working. Those two 'bars' are almost certainly SMD decoupling capacitors. The bright lines down each edge are the solder pads. The actual PPC is the square in the centre.
The SMD components are usually placed on a small bed of solder paste which gets melted into a solder connection in a special oven. There are kits for 'remanufacture' using hot air soldering 'irons', but it is a real pfaff for folk who do not do it with the necessary equipment and on a regular basis.
It is possible that the solder paste mask was not fully wiped during manufacture and the solder connections were not robust enough to stop the components being knocked loose during installation in the computer.

Hey guy, this is EXACTLY the same problem I've got with my Pegasos 2.... Tried every kind of combination, removing elements, but no luck.
The HD spins if no data cable is plugged into de main board.. But a black screen is the only thing Monitor shows.
I'll try to inspect the CPU Board.
Can you talk about the price of the repair?
Glad your Peg 2 came back to life...! Thanks

Write at bplan, the last time I contacted them, they were fixing hardware. In my case the cost was 350 euros, the symptoms were the same. This was back in 2012. Use the email bellow.

Thanks very much for the contact mail.
Do you know what issue did they fix? May be a HD controller failure?
Regards

Well I actually did not send this mobo to them, I could not afford the cost. Another Pegasos specialist that diagnosed the board for me said that it was probably a broken marvel northbridge.
Still got to fix this mobo, I bought a new Pegasos system from a local friend at the same cost and I am happy. _________________ Peg1, Peg2, Efika, Amiga 500, Amiga 1230, Amiga 4000PPC, Sam 440EP, AmigaOne XE, MacMini PPC, PowerMac G4, G5 |

350 Euros is quite expensive for me indeed,
My budget is quite low ATM, so I'll keep the board some time. It was good having both OS4.1 and MorphOS. Double fun !!!
My Emac is quicker , and has a 167 Mhz bus, but 32 MB is not enough VRAM, so I'm looking for a cheap PowerMac or Mac Mini with at least 64MB.

Drop them an email, it cost nothing. The reply to me was two years ago.
Also chrck your pm, we may be able to find an alternative fix solution, in any case.
