| I have Envy24HT card in my AmigaOne500. It works but the sound level is low compared to sam's own onboard sound and it can't be adjusted because Mixer has no effect. Is there something wrong in my system? I have the latest version of Envy24HT driver and Mixer too.

Mixer has separate code modules for each sound chip that it supports. Some cards can not be controlled by Mixer at all, and at least one type of Envy chip is supported on some cards and not others.
The original AHI system, and the drivers it uses, were not originally made to support Mixer, it was added later as an afterthought.
One other thing, while I'm ranting on the topic.. :)
Many boards use AHI to control the volume through calculations to the sound data stream, and they use the actual hardware volume control for the Mixer program. This works well, AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER that what you turn down by Mixer MAY NOT be turned back up again by AHI.
In other words whatever level you set by Mixer becomes the absolute limit, and AHI will not be able to exceed it.
Most of you probably know this already, but it's one of those subtle things that may not be obvious until you've hit up against it a few times.
