I just downloaded and played it back just fine...no audio distortion.

Micro µA1, AmigaOS 4.0 (4.1 not required). Radeon 7000 320x240 32 bit.

Great to see you back making demos.

@all

Do anybody know right settings for Wazp3D to get this demo to display correctly ?

@Tomppeli

Wazp3D will never be able to display such a demo, Crisot is using his own optimized engine.

Better wait for Warp3D drivers for Radeon HD.

I tried it again on the crap Radeon 7000 VE that we Micro owners are stuck with using 640x480 at 32bits

"PXS_OpenWorkspace(); No vram for zbuffer
Can't open workspace"

I gather your 9000 carries more video mem? Or is there another reason why this might fail on R100 and R200 cards?

Yes memory, indeed. Try to launch you WB in lower resolution and in 16 bits.

Choose a low screenmode for the demo. This is one wade to be watched in 16/9 (such as 640×360, 854×480, 960×540, 1024×576, 1280×720, 1366×768, 1600×900,...). And watch it in 16bits (not in 32bits).

Indeed only the XE will have these horrible cracklings. The dema was shown on my Sam440ep (overclocked to 733 Mhz) in 1280x720 and was really fast with the M9 chipset but it must be launched from RAM: otherwise disk acesses will cut the sound.

@Tomppeli

>right settings for Wazp3D to get this demo to display correctly

Wazp3D run this demo ...
but Wazp3D CANT display this demo correctly :
1) Crisot use a normal-map as 1st texture for a bump effect (the one with strange colors)
2) This is a real 3D prog that need a zbuffer for hiding faces

Delet Wazp3D.cfg and with Wazp3D-prefs set:
Use renderer: compositing the demo run fast but false
or
Use renderer:soft to image with a small resolution it works better (soft renderer got a zbuffer) but the texturing is still false and it become very slow (2fps at 640x480x32 on my sam440) so run perhaps well only on x1000

In fact I should patch Wazp3D to make it use the standard texture and not the normal-map
I should have already done that patch ... but until now they was no program that use this warp3d bump feature...

I will do that ... but certainly this patch will have to wait the Wazp3D-for-Morphos-TinyGL release

Alain Thellier - Wazp3D

BTW: Crisot you should not zoom too much on the blue bubbles : I can see the trick ;->

@thellier

Colours are still wrong with Soft to image renderer unfortunately. (And yes, I did remember to delete the config file first.) At least objects are not showing through walls.

@K-L

Speed is good with compositing renderer.

@thread

The demo worked nice on A1-SE with Radeon 7000. (I have to install a sound card to it.)

@elwood

Gallium 3D performance seems to be better than mere year ago. Above 80 % of Catalyst speed in some games (Radeon HD4000-6000 cards) - as tested by Phoronix. Performance of future AmigaOS implementation is another question.
