Why not focus on the positive aspects of what you have and not the negative of what you don't. The earliest I've seen speculated for a Sam460 port of MorphOS for is Q2 2014 and there's no guarantee of that.

Swapping the X1000 for a a Sam460 seems an odd decision but I guess you can at least swap it back fairly easily later but if you're prepared to be in the same situation with lower spec hardware why not just stick with the X1000.

lol. this rant is amusing.

In my minds eye I picture a smurf on vox's side of the kb, alternately manically and angrily waving his arms about as he furiously types, reading and getting angrier by each post till someone gives into his infantile tantrums and offers him a lopsided offer he cannot refuse.Whilst we humans and sam-460 owners watch on realise when he receives the 460 he will soon discover the sataII port driver is flakey, the usb hw has bugs, linux is only just running on it, and requires a radeon 4000 series card etc etc.
Not only that but once his rant is over and he has a good rest and gets over his shear tiredness, He remembers he still is in crippling debt to THE BANK(reverb for effect) till 2018 and has isolated himself from the largest support forum for 460 users out there(remember a high percentage of aw users are on the hyperion support forum).Unless he can draw on his resources of charm and wit, the only mos fellas that have any 460 knowledge will at some stage be uncomfortable with the little blue dude that loves american rap.(and has a PH D)

I think there are pills you can take, that will make you all better.

@Yssing

Well, I think we should give it a rest now.

Vox and DJnick seems to have come to an understanding.

Like others I would recommend he sticks to his x1000 instead of 460, but personally Im really impressed with DJnicks creativity.
So if a x1000 increases DJnicks music and graphics production rate then Im all for it.

So why don't you just use Linux? OS4 has all the features of a modern OS and all OS4 source code is working with all hardware now but they won't release it to the public. Right.

What's a third party GUI toolkit got to do with OS4 lacking features?

@cgutjahr

Think about the swap is a donation ...
like dj nick swap the Sam and his job for X1000
or
Vox take from Djnikky the Sam and some money and after vox take the money and make after a donation to DjNik...

Everything can be this are private transaction ...
vox can do everything with his own hardware and no one can think he is creazy, mad, insane or stupid... he just make a donation to Djnikk, just because vox like Djnikk creativity .

Wow, the guy who received a sam460 for not doing what people paid him for is now also ripping off Vox?
Some people have no shame.

That aside, let me see if I have this correct,.....

Due to discontent in speed of development with os4.x on x1000 it was considered a good idea to instead swap it for a machine of about 1/3rd the value hoping to run an OS that may not even get supported to the level that caused the original discontent?

Thats a mighty expensive, and bizarre tantrum.

@vox

I really don't understand what's in this deal for you. Please read this carefully because from where I am standing, unless there are some parts of your agreement with DjNick that aren't public, you are getting badly ripped off.

If you think support for the X1000 is incomplete, the Sam460 isn't likely to be any better. At least for OS4 - you only have to ask the person you are getting it from what his experience was as an end user and his expectations.

If you think MorphOS is the solution to that issue, then bear in mind that the Sam460 version isn't available yet and may not be released any time soon. Or ever, depending on the MorphOS team's priorities.

You'd be far better off selling the X1000 to someone that is fully aware of it's limitations and using that money to pay off some of the loan you used to buy it. I'm sure there are plenty of takers.

Otherwise you are exchanging one OS4 machine for another, keeping all the same problems regardless and getting a much less powerful, less expensive machine in the process.

In the end, it's your choice but I'd advise you to reconsider your options.

DJNick, you need to release another wallpaper quickly. Then everyone will be happy and call you shining light for os4 again. Funny how people here complain how you are ripping off vox when they themselves where ripped off into giving you sam460, hahahaha.

Keep it up wise guy. Go ahead and keep it up.
Just don't be surprised when you get visited by some evil unprofessional dictatorial censoring reggae singing Canadian vampire from Babylon.
