I doubt we'll ever see SMP on any "Amiga"-esq OS to be honest. Not without losing all backward compatibility anyway. Even then, I'm not convinced it's needed anyway, what are you going to use it for? To run Amirc or YAM?

I see Johnny with his head hanging down
Wondering how many schillings left in that pound
Cost of living it is rising so high
Dollar see that have heart attack and die

Bills and budgets are waiting
Finance ministers anticipating
Unemployment is rising
And I hear my people, they're crying

The day the dollar die
Things are gonna be better
The day the dollar die
No more corruption
The day the dollar die
People will respect eachother
The day the dollar die

Tell me brother
Is there something I can do
Don't you let frustrations make you blue

Time is hard
And I know that is true
But if you pick yourself up
That's all you've got to do

Things can be much better
If we can come together
Long time we been divided
And it's time we be inited

The day the dollar die
Gonna be better
The day the dollar die
I won't need no pockets
The day the dollar die
Don't have to be frettin'
The day the dollar die

Now I see you standing on your feet
And you can also make two ends meet
Never you let life problems get you down
There is always a solution to be found

Try AROS and wait for ARIX, which will be even more modern.

@Spectre660

Thanks, hope X1000 Linux gurus can help it. Maybe MOS team too,
would donate to P2P Bounty to solve this. X1000 has it all.
But I do run Linux on everything, that is not to point.

All I asked for were onboard ethernet to free PCI slot,
TW4 and CFE update, seen?

Real team, unlike Steven and German twins.

and I have, as a CUSA supporter or not, been telling you you are too gullible... you have been telling, mostly to yourself, for the past three years just how great X1000 is and how great O4.2 will be and that it is just around the corner, just a few months and it will be released and it will be great...

this is just reality sinkin in... better late then never

Its a shame you have had a bad experience with the X1000, it is a slight shame that a lot of the developments for X1000 hasn't gone that smoothly and project and ports haven't meet full expectations I personally just wish that some in the OS4 development would be a little bit more open and honest about where developments are up to, something like the JIT fo E-UAE would be great on OS4 about what different developers where working on ( http://euaejit.blogspot.co.uk/ ). I know there the http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/ but I feel a monthly update on there would be great.

But still at the end of the day the reason I got an x1000 is only because I felt there was enough software out there to enjoy and play with now, like hollywood, gimp, blender, audio evolution, etc and if all development stopped tomorrow I still got a lot to check out and play with.

So as where quoting music the only one I think of when I think of Amiga is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2vIE6J3vvg
I got faith of a hart.

Me too, and I was just brave enough for ask for few things I missed
to get SAM like functionality and decent TW4.

Steven has asked me to take pills, and I went courtwize
incl. AmigaKit support. AEON sadly I would sue because
it is MAIN SOFTWARE SIDE OF PRODUCT. I have contacted
Trevor months ago and he has DONE NO THING.

So bye bye AmigaKit and AEON and X1000 and SAM440 AOS 4 and
classic 4.0, yes other AmigaShops and Acube and OS4 for SAMs, Minimig
and whatever Acube throws in. Yes to MOS and OS 4.2 for SAM 460.

Nuff said, much love to all haters of I and best wishes and blessings fi di good souls

And yes, Blame Canda for state of AmigaOS

MorphOS on the SAM is little more than a tech demo atm, noone knows if, when and with what level of HW support it will be released !!

It was said the Cyrus was running both cores & the kernel should also work on the x1000. Breaking backward compatability would be stupid, there are tests going on to prevent that as much as possible, don't ask...

@vox

I don't get the reasoning for returning X1000 and replacing it with yet another not fully supported board - only this one is not nearly as fast or expandable. And OS 4.2(as promised with features all those years ago) might be and probably is years away, if it ever happens at all... So you'd be again in the same place you are today...
