If you are a Philo Doctor, why all these juvenile threads about a computer ?

You made a mistake by buying it, be strong, be a PhD...

Assume it !

The big majority of x1000 users are happy with their systems,
why are you the only one who is not happy ?

Because you are a Ph D ? The most clever of us ?

Amigakit, Hyperion and AEon are not responsibles of your mistake.

Edit : and to conclude, AOS4 on x1000 is fully usable if you add a Radeon9250 GFX card you have
Warp3D, Overlay, Sound, Ethernet, HD GFX.

But you know that...

All Amiga computers are hobby machines, some more than other and some "different way" than others.

You bought a X1000 wich has very bright future some day.

I earn more than ten times more a month and I didn't bought X1000 or Sam 460, simply because my nerves wouldn't stand a waiting to OS be ready for them. Many people has bought and they are happy with their machines.

I bought Sam 440ep Flex because it has desent hardware support and I can latter bought Ati HD cartd to it and use it with PCI-PCIe adapter. Or I can bought a machine wich has a good hardware support that day.

Sorry that I was rude to you in Amiga.org, but the way you expressed yourself there was just, well ....

You should have to understand the situation, all information what you needed was a
available to you to make the right decision.

I don't think displaying support tickets or a private email is a good idea. That is not for public consumption. But, why don't you post what you are asking for in your ticket? Given I've asked for links showing what problems you've had to no response I suspect you won't.

So, Mr. PhD, you've made all these claims about lack of support but providing no external evidence leaves it as a hypothesis at best.

I take it you are a First Contact user? Looking at the warranty, for a period of 12 months, it only mentions refund in the case of product failure. So where has the X1000 failed? That is, in context, not software but in hardware.

Going from there, I see nothing about any full refunds. And since your X1000 would now be second hand goods, why do you expect this? What I would except if anything is to be refunded purchase price minus deprecation. So, IOW, what ever is the trade in value of the system. Has this been offered?

Regarding sound, isn't this a moot point, since the X1000 has had an onboard sound driver for a while now?

And, regarding the drives or other included hardware, you could have ordered with the bare minimum and then bought drives yourself or ram yourself. Perhaps you were forced to buy with case pumping the price up, a sad fact, but there should have been a network of Amiga dealers who could have sourced local parts to bring cost down.

I think you have great potential to be a super supporter, and its easier than u think once you make a start, if you'd just shift ur attitude sideways.
But i bet ull ignore or make a flippant remark at my encouragement here, because its all to hard, aye?

So what driver? Ethernet? Even I got over that ages ago when I found a RealTek card. But I didn't see SMP promised. Only thing I recall is OS4.2 promised when ready.

SMP is something that was "promised" long before 4.2 was annoucned and even before they took the preorders for the first x1000 batches and now we are here years later with still no SMP....

You might want to research the difference between warranty and a cooling off period.

I'd also advise against suing whoever it is that you feel injured by. I don't think you have a leg to stand on and it could end up far costlier than the debt you've already accrued.

I think you should either stick with the X1000 and wait for the features you want whilst enjoying the features you already have just like every other customer or cut your losses and sell up and get s used Mac and MorphOS*.

Getting a Sam460 will put you in virtually the same position of waiting for stuff that isn't there and you may find that dealers are reluctant to sell you one anyway.

Just take this as a bit of friendly advice.

*Don't be surprised if Ralph thinks twice about selling you a key either.

Hi everyone,

Another new X1000 owner here. Got my A-EON and Hyperion logins all sorted out, so I thought I'd check-in and say hello!

I've had many Amigas over the years (A500, A3000, A3000UX, A1200, A4000) but this is my first NG Amiga.

It been a while since I've played with Amiga OS and I'm looking forward to putting the X1000 through it's paces.

Cheers

Congrats Rod! I ve decided to go X1000 over SAM 460, and with compliments to Acube, I don‚t regret it.

Idea to fully support Linux is great - it enables it to be my main machine and forget the x64, so
expect questions on Linux side

A bit of Amigish customization I ve did is Catweasel mk2 and customized Cherry keyboard is on its way from Loriano

In january I will send it by some smart post office on their charge and wait for money. If it doesn`t come february, I am sure
I have stronger court case.

If they refuse it, you will be changed with return shipping. You will have to pay it to get the system back, not a good idea, There are laws that protect both sides. I would get an agreement with both Trevor & AmigaKit to return it for any refund or a consignment sale for you. I don't think you have any chance of winning any court case. The OS4.1 manual says buy at your own risk, the h/w warranty is for repair or replacement. Companies cover themselves legally from guys like you.

You do know the os4 team does the s/w for the sam460 & not done by ACube I hope. They do some drivers for their boards is all.

Both sides of a sale have rights, you can't just demand your money back after a few months & get it. More bad steps could cost you even more if you don't plan right.

I know there was work put into it on the AmigaOne platform with a dual core CPU card we didn't see in public AFAIK. But, to be fair, what about the X1000 X-Kerne in testing? Isn't that a move towards SMP?

So was SMP actually promised for X1000 users who bought a machine? I didn't see this myself. Must have missed the fine print.

What I do see in the FC manual is a license for OS4.2 when released. OS4.2 is not released. So, the only grounds I see here for dispute is an OS that has not been supplied after significant delay. However, this is a grey area as this isn't proof it will never come out. History hints that it will. But so far all there is ATM is time.

Look at Putty Squad and there's proof that came out. Delayed but made it. Of course it's 20 years later and not on the shelf so not in the same context.

You said you were interested in obtaining a Pegasos 2, so I offer you one in exchange for your X1000 and you don't take it and say in a later post that a Pegasos 2 is unavailable?

So really it is not about the X1000, AmigaOS or being unhappy with Hyperion it is about money, you need money plain and simple.

Truth is all the problems you express about the X1000 you will also find on the Sam 460, I have similar issues on my Pegasos 2 both in MorphOS and AmigaOS and you will find it in AROS also.

You will regret selling/refunding the X1000 in the near future.
