DjNick said he wanted the full experience. You don't have to touch ENVARC:#?.prefs files if he wanted to provide only skin bitmaps. But he said he wanted to change everything including AmiDock settings. So you need a tool to be able to handle IFF format of prefs files and change only one part. For example theme maker wants to change the colour of drop shadow and replaces the whole GUI.prefs file. That destroys my settings how, for example, menus behave. Then I have to change all that manually myself. Only WBpattern editor allows to change backdrop picture without changing the backdrop of drawers. All other prefs editors don't have cmd args to change a single setting alone. If the theme maker wants to change font and I use 18 pixel fonts and he replaces the font.prefs file using 12 pixel size I lose my font settings. A decicated tool could read the sizes and change only the name of the font and try to use the existing size and other settings and could also check width and height of the Workbench screen to offer good font size during installation. If I remember, idea was to add theme editor to the Style tab of the GUI prefs editor. It's even worse if he wants to change settings of AmiDock and have to overwrite then the whole amidock.xml file. I would lose all panels and icons on them. I don't remember if some of those skin bitmap files allowed to override some of the GUI settings so you don't have to touch prefs files at all. I don't know if anybody was trying to teach that to DjNick. Don't remember if you can make rounded corners without touching the GUI prefs, for example. Can't we get rid of those Amiga pens.

Let me get this straight. You found out it was beyond your capability to achieve what you wanted to do, so you just gave-up & quit completely? I'm sorry, but that seems like a cop-out, or (at best) faulty thinking.

I'm sure a lot of people would have been happy with separate Reaction-only & MUI-only themes. All that theming of other apps (like AmiDock & Filer), and combining it all together into one big installer, could have been left to some indefinite future.

If you didn't get the Sam460 for free, this wouldn't have matter much, but since you did I think your donators deserve to be treated better than this. However, I wasn't a donator, and strangely a lot of donators in Amiga-land don't seem to mind if someone don't do what they received donations to do (or at least they don't even bother posting to say they are unhappy).

Guys easy with the attitude a bit eh. DJ's been around for a while, made/makes cool tunes on Amiga and has mad artist/graphic skills. He hasn't said he's leaving and running away with his A1-500 and he continues to do boot up sounds/ graphics for us which I personally think are high quality and use myself.

Kas1e backed up the bounty to buy his new A1-500 and we all know and trust Roman to deliver on what he promises and I'm sure DJNick will do the same in due time.

If customizing EVERYTHING with a single installer is beyond our current capabilities, a more sensible goal would be to release everything in as usable a state as possible. A zip file with photoshop files is not very usable for the average amigan.

It's pretty simple: DJ asked a Sam460 to do something for amigaOS - so he supposedly needed to run amigaOS.

BUT... whoops, he only did some graphics, which one can do on any mac or pc. The "I need an NG Amiga to do something for AmigaOS" part was skipped.
