I'm curious how well it would work with the KVM libraries on the 970. Virtualized PPC would in theory be faster than the X1000.

Qemu-uae.so is kvm enabled right now but isnt supported by MacOSx 10.5.8 leopard only from linuxPPC . I dont have it active in my kernel because too much think to do but in future will test it :)
after releasing my modded code i think Christian and Guillaume can test it on kvm and report their experiences first.

Now i will check if after made many modifications in the Make file and so and so i had been made something wrong :P

In any way right now i have an FS-Uae Altivec accelered :)
After have the ppc working will be try to made the merge of the 68k jit from Almos there ..

So, you are referring the the ability to let the powerpc instructions be executed directly by the PowerPC processor instead of being emulated? But this would only work from a linuxPPC distro (is there a particular one? I was going to try Ubuntu or LinuxMint on my PowerPC Laptop).

This would be amazing to see, especially on a G5 machine. I'd love to see speed comparisons then.

Please keep us updated!

Yes but that is not on the Amiga. See PC Task or PCx.

Qemu can bee a good software emulator it is good but not fast as the old Vpc o Softwindows emulators .
But in future it will be better.
I had been try many emulators on PowerMac and at belive me i can do the same things in coding / programming and webdeveloping on virtualpc that was able to do to my old P4 machine ... if we compare the time line the 2005 G5 can fast emulate a Pentium4 really really good.

If one day the market will reborn and if some great developers will join the amiga community i think everything will be possible.

So, assuming that the kvm works in linuxppc, then that would mean that we are no longer limited to just apple machines. Theoretically, we could use efikappc or even old gamecube machines with linuxppc (yes, both are not fast but if you no longer have to emulate the cpu...)

With Kvm you can use a second video board as Emulated machine videoboard...

Example if Passthruout was supported by Qemu-uae on linux you will have a Quad G5 + RadeonHd as used as native boards ... pratically with all the accelerations and the full speed of one G5 cpu
The other CPu one for the other part of emulated system (audio buss etc etc ) and the remaning for the host os

Cyberstorm roms can now be legally obtained from indieGO!-Appstore.
I needed them for my BoingboxPC's but am fine if you use them on your own stuff.

http://aros-exec.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=9144&forum=4&post_id=94305#forumpost94305

Edit:
Remember that also customers who bought something at www.ares-shop.de in the past can request a 5% cashback(amicoins) for their purchases. So it is basically free for them.

@phoenixkonsole

Can I ask how the ROM is licences and who currently owns the rights?

I ask as am a BlizzardPPC owner and use a ripped version of my rom to run OS4.1SE but I way be interested in using the CyberStorm version instead if I can purchase a legally licensed version, in the same way I purchased Amiga Forever copied for A600 ROMs for by two Minimig's.

I am not trying to imply don't have the rights I just like to make sure I have my facts, if anyone else asks me were they can get a licences from.

@Dwyloc
The rights stay at DCE who took a lot from Phase5 over.
You can buy them from indieGO!-Store or from ares-shop.de starting at the Weekend. Whatever the Price for the voucher would be nearer to 1,5€ because of PayPal fees which Impacts a lot for so small Prices.

But also in the later case, the download would happen via indieGO!-Appstore to track sales.
