@imagodespira

not all are controlled by a certain camp so I am allowed to think what i want (and that in every forum if I want)

And no I am not just thinking

Everblue in the other thread here

"Earlier today I did email Comsytec and they don't really have the boards in stock. And they also told me that the prices do not include Amiga OS4.1.

So you have to add another 120 Euro or so on top. Not cool."

For just have it as a testenvironment for either developer or curious emulator users then both 120 or 150EUR is a hell of a lot money.
Maybe they could have a developer discount to set the price to let's say 30 EUR ? =)
I see me open my wallet rather easy if that level was reality...

@Develin

If i take the decision to put windows on one Virtual machine (VDI) i have to pay the full licenze ... the same is if i have to use a Qemu or Virtualbox ..
Why amigaos have to be differet about?

Because it is a difference if you pay for something as your main working platform or just to boot it now and then or for testing

Yes you are right with what you thinking (dont take it personal), it is no problem at all. But sometimes you combine things which are not to understand ;)

For Instance: Where do you read in the post of Everblue or in the Email from Comsytec that they mean AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition In their webshop only listed AmigaOS4.1 ... this is what i mean with too much thinking.

Sorry, you need a full license for the update or am I wrong? And the full license is 120 EUR or not?

Or are they selling now full licenses for 30 EUR?

@OlafS25

They should make a bundle, such that if you buy OS4.1 and the Final Update at the same time, you get both for €120.

@Deniil715

they should simply sell only final edition for 120 EUR in future and make it free for people who bought AmigaOS recently (I have seen that on other cases). Or they make it simple and ask everyone to buy it.

The "OS4.1 Final Update" CD is a freestanding product, and does not require a license for OS4.1.

[edit] I was wrong, this has now been corrected to show the correct information.

The "OS4.1 Final Update" CD is an update, and so requires a license for OS4.1.

This is what I was told from a source I consider reliable.

As to pricing or other details, I can not say.

In general I would consider 30 EURO to be a laughable low price for a OS, even if just a upgrade.

I just ordered OS4.1 from Amikit yesterday, and if there are some new features that will be of my intrest I dont mind paying a bit for the upgrade. (I dont expect a revelutionary expirience, but maintaining my nostalgica is one of my hobbies).

I do realise the difference between "modern OS" with good hardware driver support vs a low resource "hobby" OS, and by that logic you cant expect to price it accordingly.
But the paid Upgrades are not frequent, so forking out for 50-100 EURO every 4 years or whatever aint going to break your bank. Most people waste that kind of money on a night out.
