I'm hoping that Media Molecule's 'Dreams' makes an appearance at the PlayStation conference at E3 at 2am British Summer Time (not long). Hopefully it will be like Deluxe Paint for the next generation with the tools needed for anyone to animate or create games or compose or create 3D objects etc. I really hope we move beyond this period of computers and devices just being used as delivery systems for the consumption of content. We will be a healthier society when we become more creative with technology again! And no I don't view VLOGGING as a particularly creative outlet for the average individual to be honest.

| @BigD I'm still using my 25 year old Amiga 2000 animation workstation. The DPS PAR card can take a 5000 frame animation and turn it into a playable digital video in 16 million colors. (Obviously limited to the palettes generated by the original software) The hitch is the frames have to be sequentially numbered. This is a must have for users of Lightwave 3D, Vista Pro, Imagine, Aladdin, etc. I don't know if you can get DPaint to number the frames. You can always do it manually (more than once I've had to manually delete 600 periods that were in the wrong place in the file extension.) it can be tedious, but most television logos are only on the screen for ten or 15 seconds. For making "Dragon's Lair" or South Park something like it a cel animator is needed (Disney had one for Amigas) In the early days I generated my frames to a spare Quantum Viking II in it's own power box so I could move it from one Amiga to another, then let the PAR go to work. Later I bought Lightwave 6.0 and Vista Pro 4.0 on CD's for my Gateway laptop PC as they were so much faster, then burned the sequential frames to a CD and still used the PAR Amiga to compile the frames directly off the CD. Have you ever used TV Paint Professional? My all time favorite. The last Amiga version of it is downloadable free from their website. They have a powerful cel animator now with a free downloadable demo version, but it's PC only now. The demo version is full but doesn't allow any saves. good luck. |

New Media Molecule 'Dreams' footage was light on the ground at the E3 PlayStation showcase event but some video footage has now been released including demonstrations of the animation, music and logic creation tools!!!! Nice

Wow, a hundred views now! That's more Amigans that have watched it now than members of the church that I produced the animation (and soundtrack) for
It's a good reminder of the friendships we made at Regent Chapel and the time we spent praising Jesus' name together. I'll have to try and do something similar for our new church. Hopefully it would be for a weekend away talent night type event rather than a leaving present this time.
I could even try my hand at the PS4 'Dreams' 3D animating and supplement the Deluxe Paint / Brilliance 2D sections _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

I've just found this for playing ANIM file on Mac computers with Java installed (I know Apple hates that now but scr$w them ).
http://www.randelshofer.ch/multishow/index.html
It works really well! I was using an old PowerPC player prior to that! It had some sort of memory leak where the animation would slow down after a while when using Snow Leopard under Fusion 5 Virtual Machine!
This is a much better solution! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

... I will still need to use AnimWebConverter (PPC Mac or Windows) to convert ANIMs to AVI and then to MOVs with another conversion program if I want to use the Amiga Anims on iMovie etc. Multishow is just a player but a great one!
It looks like JASC Animation Shop has the same export functionality as AnimWebConverter too!

PaintShopPro has a companion program called JASC Animation Shop, and I also loaded them into that program ... and SAVED them out again as AVIs. |
