@amigakit

I still can't registrate myself to be able to use AmiStore.
The registration form which is mentioned in a forum post can't accept accented european characters. I sent a note about it with the contact form on the same site, but have not had any reply.

Please let me know if it will be possible to use my real name in the name fields.

Bye!

@zzd10h

Will updates to your tools be available on OS4Depot/AmiUpdate again or only AMIStore now?

@Lazi

I assume you have done so, but you have sent Amigakit a mail directly and a private mail on this and amiga.org just to make sure he notices it?

If hes superbusy with bughunting and running Amigakit in general, it might take a while before he reads threads on forums.

If you private message him, he will notice it as soon as he logs on.

Just saying

@gtmooya

Hi gtmooya,
AMIStore only.

(See here the updates, particulary FlipPaper ones that you use IIRC, included in the AMIStore version :

@zzd10h

As per my question over at amigans, if one already owns the majority of software on the AmiStore how does he/she register the product on the store so he/she is up to date with the latest version ??
This is very important IMHO.

@klx300r

You'll be automatically when you bought the zTools on AMIStore.

If you mean you got the stuff from OS4Depot.net or elsewhere, then you are out of luck as you won't get updates...read the announcement threads on amigans and here on why that is so

A question to those that already got an active AmigaStore;

Can you add "non store" stuff to the library?

On steam I can add "non-steam" products so people on my friendslist can see what Im playing/using software wise, but I obviously dont get upgrades for that software since I didnt purchase it thru Steam.
Its not a odd thing since Steam have no way of knowing if I paid for it or not.

The reason why its helpful to add a non-steam product to the library is because;

1) I can inform my buddies directly of what im playing, which might get them to play it too without me having to message them (good for multiplayer games)

2) If I play a game fullscreen, I can use the Steam chat overlay directly without alt+tab to read and respond.

Not sure if that ever becomes a scenario for AmigaStore, but figured Id mention
it.

@zzd10h & Raziel

Sorry guys I'm only referring to programs that were already purchased and a registration number was issued I.e DigiBooster 3 & SketchBlock etc.

Others that I have gladly donated to the authors before I fine with purchasing on the AmiStore

Tried to buy something for the store, OWB opens and when I clicked to continue with the payment it stuck on "processing...". How long does it takes to login to PayPal account?

SketchBlock? I'm guessing you mean Fractals for SketchBlock as I haven't sold SketchBlock itself until now.

If you purchased Fractals from my site you will continue to receive updates via my site if there are any. (and I do have a planned but not completely implemented improvement that will be available free to existing customers).

@klx300r

It depends on the individual authors of these titles. They set the conditions of sale for their software.

@all

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will be working on implementing some of these this weekend.

I don't know if it's worth the hassle implementing a custom chat system... you can very well create a private room on irc and use that, eventually doing a stripped down client in AmiStore. Or you can install a server-side chat system with PHP or whatever language he's comfortable with and again, implement a light client for its APIs. Why bother reinventing the wheel?

Didnt notice until now

Anyhow, I agree IRC is good, but its not really low impact having to run both Store client and IRC. I have IRC on my Wintel computer, but I barely ever load it up. And it doesnt overlay when I play games for example.
AND trying to convince my buddies (reallife and online) to use IRC consistently has proven to be mission impossible.

Tho, how well you can intrigrate IRC and AmigaStore; sounds like you got much more knowledge on the topic than me. I just know how I personally enjoy the endproduct.

I totally get that making AmigaStore+chat client as seamless and low impact as Steam currently is will be like "inventing the wheel". Which is why I suggest it with the knowledge its probarly very far down the list of things to do.
If Matthew has plans about giving AmigaStore chat functionality, Im atleast giving him a hint about how I personally would love to see it implimented.
Its up to him to judge if its realistic or not

@broadblues

ah yes my apologies Andy yes it was only for Fractals for registering and not for SketchBlock itself as those were donations. I'll happily buy SketchBlock as I use it all the time & love the idea of getting updates in one place er store and very much appreciate your work

@ Amigakit

that's fine but I'm sure you'll have to set up a few things on your end to make it happen

@Overflow

The basic "chat" / message system between AMIStore users is mostly implemented inside the client and on a server level. Message queue is in place and can accept system messages, notifications and other user messages. It was one of the feature creep functions that was decided to finish off later. I hope to get it rolled out in one of the many releases over the next few weeks.

Lots of other ideas for the future too... to be honest, it will probably be another 6 months part time (weekends/evenings) development to get AMIStore to the next level where I will be satisfied by the advanced features. This is why the feedback from the public beta testing is so useful.

@amigakit @All

I've bought Ztools today. No problem, everething worked fine and I get ztools.
What's the problem then ??
I tried to let a comment but it wasn't possible. In fact, When I chose edit comments about ztools, I "clic" on it, but behind, there was big icon Anotice2 and it opened a window to let a comment for Anotice2 !!?? I tried to restart amistore, restart my Sam and restart amistore another time, but I can't let any comments for ztools.. What's behind become in front... that's a bug ....

@Amigakit

Pseudaxos is right, I reproduced his problem.

When using "Categories / Utilities (4)" to filter by category, the comments editor seems stuck when you select another tab

Notice the "ANotice 2" title in "zTools" comments

I tried too, to use "Categories / Sound (3)", same problem occurs for "Prisma Megamix" for example.

BUT, when you use the "by default" panel where all products are listed (or "Products/All Products" menu options) , it works fine.

@amigakit

Two questions:

1) I haven't been able to download Ranger. It keeps telling me there are no files on the server...could you please fix that?

2) AMIStore seems to not only download the .lha files, but also keep a complete installation of the program in Downloads (RadeonHD, RadeonHD2 and CANDI for me)...is that necessary, can i delete some of these files (at least the installation dirs...i normally don't install them in AMIStore/Downloads)?
Wouldn't it be better to only keep hold of the .lha files for purchased software?

Thank you

P.S: oh and as others have already mentioned, i would like an alert on new and updated stuff too
