@OlafS25

Still not listening. This thread is DEAD please could the moderators lock it?

AROS should have its own thread as Hyperion has nothing to do with AROS. Simple enough I think, especially as this thread is 50 mind numbing pages long.... the utter boredom is excruciating.

EDIT: 51 pages of my life I'll never get back!!!!!!!

@sundown

AmigaOS users have strong views of AROS or MorphOS too without using it 1:1

small part of Magellan. We can continue with going more in detail like how configurable are file types and shortcuts and so on. You mix AROS with its limited original desktop but AROS is a opensource implementation of the 3.1. API.

Me and you know that, however it has not 'teh Name', that is a fundamental requirement for the fetish... [ironic, in a bitter way but ironic]

@BigD

well i personally would consider this thread a reference guide for HypEnt - in case they would be able to escape the procedure - on how they should change drastically their PR and core values if they are willing to survive and make a profit:
first: respect the other incarnations and your devote and potential users passions;
second: listen to your customers and potential ones since they feed you (or might);
third: do not milk your customers and provide sometihng for all wallets;
fourth: Karma is a [female dog] and will come back to bite you if you act badly

Your not saying anything new! All I'm hearing is, "Ha Ha Ha Hyperion are dead long live AROS" and quite frankly that is sick (not in a trendy modern street slang way). I'm glad you like using an Amiga-like OS, good for you. However, AROS has nothing to do with a company that develops AmigaOS entering bankruptcy and if it did you should post it HERE

@BigD

ok read above my edited thread; however me (and i think Olaf) feel involved in this since HypEnt and stepuncle Ben insulted and delegitimated our beloved system calling it "potentially illegal" and alienating us from active participation with its and its dev condescending attitude...

@BigD

where do you have the "Ha Ha Ha" here from?

People downtalked one platform and I explained why I disagree

BTW nothing beats the original, everything not running on 68k is "Amiga-like" for me

@saimon69

Great, point taken. So set up a "Ha, Ha, Hyperion got what they deserved and I'm glad" thread if it makes you feel better but realise that your destructive, "I told you so ranting" is not going to win you any converts to AROS and it will simply help to further drive people away from the Amiga community. Why not act in a different way to the way you say Hyperion treated you, set up a discussion on the merits of AROS and wish Hyperion well HERE? I fail to see what you are trying to do on this thread besides kicking Hyperion and AmigaOS users when they are down.

@saimon69

I more regret that there was and is no interest in cooperation from their side but there is nothing to change. Developers like Thomas Richter would like to help and cannot because they signed contracts before getting access to the 3.1. sources and now cannot help anymore.

@BigD

Expecting from the others to even wish well to Hyperion is a little too much. That does not mean being happy if AmigaOS users are sad or desperate but "Hyperion" has done its part to create the negativity around them.

@OlafS25

There is something to be said about being the better man, and not stoop to the level of those you have issues with.

As Ive said before, Danwood seems to have found the best balance in that regard.

@saimon69

AROS is also hype.

* No drivers (Most AROS installations run on top of Linux).
* None working SMP.
* No memory protection.
* No multi user interface.
* Can't run 68k programs without UAE, at least you can do that on AmigaOS4 and MorphOS.
* No users.
* Few developers.
* No road map.

And bunch of loony's who think they know it all, that I ratter not associate myself with.

This community is full of hate & this is a "hate" thread, they don't die, they only grow bigger. I'd rather contain it here then start a new one with no news. A topic like this is like a flood of water, it spills everywhere, like it or not. Ignoring it is the best option.

AW was once OS4 only, we all helped each other in those days. Then one day we were asked to vote to let other OS's post here, that was the end of the "love" & the beginning of the "hate".
