on an amiga meeting theey could at least use some amiga or compatible for presentation.. seems even though all claiming how windows is bad, there is no alternative..
good to see trevor comein finally to conclusion, its the software being the showstopper..

edit: looks like there are no news what concerns os4. everything sounds same like for past few years. morphos is at least showing off an actual application on an actual mos machine, even if with a broken display. lol..

@samo79

MorphOS 3.10 will probably support more GFX cards and more RAM (cca 200 MB more). MIDI support is also planed.

Edit: MorphOS Team prepares integrated developement enviroment and debugger to ease software developement.

I dont know , i m at home not there ... i see many photos of the exposition from my friends on facebook ...
but for sure what shocked me is the photos of Wing Remastered running on AmigaOs 4... it means unity or unity api run on Os4 and it can be a great news for porting of unity games or unity player in future

Curb your enthusiasm, it has nothing to do with Unity

They did not (yet?). The presented HW was working with Debian Linux, the PowerPCSPE port. Which is a different and incompatible - binary wise - port to the PowerPC32 port which is known to run on other Amiga-NG hardware. But otherwise it was running with an OK-ish speed (720p video playback, GLXGears) and seemed to be very stable all day long.

Name a motherboard like an island that was described once and never have been found again are they giving us a hint?

I hope that in any case the name was taken from this other meaning instead:

@Chain-Q

It also runs earlier Ubuntu powerpc32 flavors and Debian 8 powerpc32.
Floating point is emulated on these .

The Tabor doesn't doesn't use the classic PowerPC as we know them. They use the
"PowerPCSPE"' architecture that lacks the classic FPU with dedicated FPRs found on
most other PowerPC systems. It is replaced with a set of "SPE" instructions which perform floating-point operations on the integer registers. SPE stands for Single Processing Engine.

The obvious solution is to completely ignore the H/W FPU and let the CPU handle the floating point operations in S/W. At a performance cost of course.

Looki Looki: MorphOS on AmigaOne X5000

itix:
RJ Mical had a look at MorphOS running on X5000 (SAM460 too but it died during demo). RJ was talking with our Intuition guy Jacek, probably about some design decisions back then and now.

Cego:
- MorphOS Team is already working on a NG MorphOS system with memory protection, smp,...
- MorphOS PowerUp is at version 3.8 and if it will ever be released and when is not decided yet
- 3.10 will come with X5000 support and MIDI

kamelito:
of course X5000 support in 3.10 which may come before the X5000 release [X5000 not holding MorphOS 3.10 back]. Updated HW support for "new" graphics cards, a new development environment with a debugger[!!!]. More RAM available for application i.e. 200MB. Not sure if I heard it correctly but also heard about more network drivers but I could be wrong.

Tripos has a tendency to be over-optimistic regarding MorphOS

It will need just two more weeks propably

MorphOS team will certainly deliver "MorphOS NG" but certainly not in near future. And how related to Amiga it still is and what software runs on it (or more propably not) has to be seen. It will be something completely different even to existing MorphOS as I understand it.
