What board you quote? This is not "Tabor".
Here is P1022 Fact Sheet
It clearly says: 36-bit physical addressing, One x4 PCI Express interface (converted to x16 like in SAM460). |

Some of these specs are outdated. I have 4GB in mine and the CPU it is indeed 1.2GHZ. _________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |

Tabor is the name invented by A-Eon, it doesn't exist at Fresscale of Qorql.
I think there is an error in the document I found regarding the x2 PCI-Express. Errr, whet does that mean "converted to 16x" ? It's only the form factor of the port.
And BTW there are only 6 SerDes lanes, all shared between SATA and PCI-E ports.
Your document doesn't state the maximum memory the P1022 can handle. _________________ PowerMac G5 2,7Ghz - 2GB - Radeon 9650 - MorphOS 3.14 AmigaONE X1000, 2GB, Sapphire Radeon HD 7700 FPGA Replay + DB 68060 at 85Mhz |

True indeed. Sam460 is still also sold under warranty.
True as long as stock lasts!!!

With multicore support you will be better

36 bit = 64 GB.

Eg. in SAM460 PCIe port is still x4, but has usual x16 mechanical connector for GFX cards. |

Well... When we can see lame and (much important) blender 2.48 render tests we can early say if was worth or no... Atm dont seems so worth honestly.... And I'm really sad for that...
Otherwise if you only like to browse(but dont look videos), play with wb or do easy task its ok for sure...
Unfortunately not for me seems.... _________________ Simone"Tuxedo"Monsignori, Perugia, ITALY. |

8 GB RAM vs 2 GB (Only 2GB usable on OS4, which kind of nullifies the benefit)

AmigaOS 4.1 FE can access the extra memory via Extended Memory Objects.
By default ExtMem pages into the upper half of the 4gb mem space so doesn't reduce the available 2Gb memory space for other applications.

Funny you should mention typical applications who seriously benefits from both Altivec and H/W FPU, both which lacks in this machine...

You mentioned effects of RAM speed, I showed examples where this matters. Of course, this will not help much P1022 with other weak points. |

| as far as i gather, this board was presented running linux. linux can be made running on whatever hardware, without need of cross compatibility, no matter what fpu. os4 may or may not become an option once, currently it is not relevant. and judging by os4 developers statements on the meeting all projects they have been involved with are at the same stage they have been for years. running some test programs on different cores. gallium running some test case in software renderer. libre office compiling but not working.
make your bet. |

This would make the card unusable for AOS4 and most available Linux versions. |

Read above, "normal" Linux distributions of course work, FPU is emulated in software (slooooow).

Yes, really. A-EON bothered to introduce this thing only to NOT run AOS4. Yes, really._________________ The Rear Window blog
