Aren't we talking here about used cpu cards, like the Sonnet Crescendo, or something like the Leadtek pxvc1100 ?

Yes I know. And like I said those cell cards are not suitable for general computing. They were used on similar tasks than gpgpu (Cuda / OpenCL) are used today.
