Because I only see a 'timer flood' when clock.docky is active.

No way to boot my Sam 460 After the update It always freezes loading the at startup programs.
The USB does not work at all so no mouse or keyboard to tray anything

Any hint?

Boot with nostartup-sequence or BOOT from Live Workbench option on the FE CD and rename wbstartup.prefs to something else
It could be Amidock crashing ?

No, but I've now updated to OS4.1FEupdate1 with the X1kTemp docky in AmiDock and have the 'timer flood'. If I remove X1kTemp from AmiDock the 'timer flood' stops. I'm guessing that X1kTemp uses timer to make periodic temperature checks.

I've done some further debugging and replaced the OS4.1FEu1 Kickstart directory with my backup OS4.1FE Kickstart directory. I cold booted (reset button) and there is no 'timer flood' with OS4.1FE Kickstart directory installed. All other OS4.1FEupdate1 files are still in place and the X1kTemp docky is in AmiDock and active.

I'm going to try adding the OS4.1FEupdate1 files to my Kickstart directory one at a time to see if I can track down the problem further. However, that may not work if some kickstart files require other kickstart files with higher versions.

I got same error but when I disabled all software on wbstartup and started again installation went fine

I initially had a problem with installing on a SAM460. The error message "Smallerpw.png (or something), object already in use" popped up. When I rebooted, usbmassstoragedevice couldn't be found.

Had to reinstall from the archive again, now everything appears to be fine.

Will do a thorough back-up before attempting on my A1XE.

Ran the updater with no problems on my winUAE clean install and it broke it twice now. After it completed I get to the pink screen and it just stalls and wont continue booting.

I tracked down the changed component that is causing the 'timer flood'. If I replace the OS4.1FEupdate1 graphics.library with the previous (OS4.1FE) graphics.library, the 'timer flood' doesn't occur. Without a debug version of graphics.library I can't tell what changes might be causing the 'timer flood'. If you have any idea what changes to graphics.library may have caused the problem, I'd be interrested to know.

3.3.x should be fine (I´m using some of the betas right now as 3.4.0 doesn´t like my emulated PCI LAN card).

Edit: Only difference of note I see is this:
You have:
ppc_model=manual
ppc_cpu_idle=disabled

I have:
ppc_model=automatic
ppc_cpu_idle=max


Do not let OS4 to restart itself after install. Restart it manually.

Tried both ways, even using 3.4.0 now and still just starts up to the pink KS screen and hangs. Oh well, back to 4.1FE hard file before I did the update now and it boots up fine.

If I look in the UAE error log section its showing "UAE Maprom and accelerator board emulation are not compatible."

Two possible reasons come to my mind:
1) What CS ROM you use (I have V44.69, I think), but even the newest 44.71 is reported to work fine.
2) OS seems to hang with kickstart, but as far as I know, kicklayout file is not changed by Update 1. Did you change startup-sequence to get Z3 RAM support?


Edit: Wait a minute - you get only pink screen? That is before Kickstart loads.

My kickstart seems to be the 44.68 version. If I start UAE after the update and start the emulation it flashes the colors and stops on pink yes.
