| I'm wondering if there is a list of 68k applications or OS friendly games that do not work under OS4 but that users would like to see them working.

Thanks, and on this list, what are the ones (non working) that Amigans miss the most? Kamelito |

| @pavlor which version are we talking about? IIRC I read somewhere that some code was put in the OS to help DPaint working. Kamelito

Yeah it does. I use versions of both 4.x and 5.x on Amithlon, which is RTG only. Only certain versions seem to work though. Others crash at either screen mode requestor, or shortly after selecting a screen mode. |

It runs, but some tools and requesters are broken on RTG. |

4.0 Final Update introduced enhanced support for planar screen emulation. However, some DPaint features (eg. two overlapping screens in palette editing) require far more chipset features. |

i dont see the reason tvp shouldnt, but brilliance also needs two overlapping planar screens with the different depths/resolutions. |

TV Paint doesn't seem that easy to get working plus the cursor becomes hard to follow on modern screen sizes.

68k "OS friendly games" don't really exist. Even when they used RTG and/or AHI, they still usually managed to make some unreasonable assumptions, such as: * CIA chip for timing. * Banging the hardware for keyboard/joystick input. * Using the OS to obtain the audio channels in a system-friendly way, but then use Paula directly to actually generate the sounds.
And even PowerUp/WarpUp PPC games would do things like poke Paula (instead of being OS friendly) to avoid 68k/PPC context switches that would otherwise kill performance, or assume a certain memory layout.
I'm not saying that 100% system friendly Classic Amiga games don't exist, but just that they are so extremely rare that expecting any of them to work on OS4 (without emulation or special patches) is a bit unreasonable._________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. SimCity 2000 seems like an unoptimised OS friendly (and slow) game. Does this work? someone said AGA planar screens are supported now? _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Works on OS4 Classic (when full moon and with some magic). Not working on AmigaOne. |

Also SimCity 2000 works on the X1000 just without sound. |
Only if you are lucky... better to use DosBox or Basilisk 2 for this purpose. |
