That's the last known use of it for PCs.
Hard to believe that there are such hard feelings that an offer for something running AmigaOS would be turned down flat.
After all, A-eon took the spec for the higher end system spec quoted by Ack System, improved on it, and made it REAL.
And they continue to produce hardware.

If Bill really wants a legacy as anything but a total pathological loser....

I've been told not to confuse William Wallace with Bill, his son, and I have no clue how Bill sees this.

I used to think everyone was aware of every episode Rob, but as time passes I realize there are fewer and fewer "old timers" with the memories.

Yes. IContain was a classic.

It was, according to the understanding of CUSA, a multiple exclusive licensing debacle, that prompted Barry (CUSA) to have the new contract with his company and Amiga Inc. negotiated.

Poor Tod Kleperis (IContain) never knew what he had gotten himself into.

After the license to Tod was rescinded you will recall that many of the "products" ended up on Alibaba.

IContain announces Amiga branded http://www.amiga.com/shop/?prod_id=1TVs, cell phones and computers

And one of several followups:

1,3 megapixels camera.. Was nice 20 years ago or so in Nokialand. (The old 5mpix works good)

Really would love an Amiga laptop. Only Amiga makes it possible?

My sense is that the valuation likely came out following the era of litigation but Trevor will need to speak to that - perhaps over a beverage.

At this point I suppose it's merely a punchline.

Perhaps interesting discussion to some, spawned by their discussion of P96:

Point taken, we haven't really heard from the man in awhile.
Just the occasional legal action or bad business deal.

Sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly stupid, I feel kind of sorry for the guy.
Then I quickly get over it.

Now that I think of it, the last time I tried to contact Amiga Inc, I got no reply.
Maybe there is no man behind the curtain.

Given the information from Jens about bringing Hyperion into this purchase, I was wondering if anyone has seen any announcement from Hyperion in that regard. Just curious.

It seems Jens answered this question concerning lack of a press release from Hyperion:

Quote:
The background for me having the final word on this is that legally, I am currently the sole owner of P96, as contracts (Yes, a total of three) with Hyperion are currently in the process of being signed (meaning: Paper is on it's way in the mail, already signed by me).

So, paperwork (contracts) were in the mail to Hyperion by or before April 25, 2017.

Anyone know the status?

Jens stated it will not come, his deal with Hyperion fell through. He will offer a pay what you want option for P96 in the near future.

Although given the prior info and the war over the trademarks this comes as no surprise to anyone I'm sure...can someone supply more official confirmation of the user posting above?

Nevermind.

"That is disappointing. Can Hyperion do anything right? Make a commitment and backing out is not cool "

This is the Hyperion modus operandi. Make promises, engage "deals", talk about roadmaps and developments. Only to scrap it all a few months later. Smoke and mirrors, that's Hyperion.

@TRIPOS

You have some insider informations, or it is your usual Hyperion bashing?

As we don´t know details of the deal, we can´t blame any party.
