Oh, for me, 3.1 was the last Commodore AmigaOS, so your sentence was a bit unclear.

Main reason AROS was based on 3.1 is that nothing else was around at the time, AROS predates OS3.5 by almost half a decade.

No. The first to ship with an EULA was 3.5 by Haage and Partner. The last version without was 3.1 and that's why AROS was based on it. The EULA forbids reverse engineering in several powerful countries.

I thought EULA's were essentially deemed unenforceable since you are forced to accept them whether you agree with them or not AFTER already purchasing the software in order to use it at all...

@Lou

EULAs have no legal meaning in Europe at least, "end user licence agreements" was a running joke for a while.

It is interesting to note that OS 3.1 was released in 1994 but it was (is) copyrighted 1985-1993 by Commodore-Amiga, Inc.

That could be the significance of the date where Cloanto affirms that they have the rights until 1993.

In any case OS 3.1 (6 ADFs ) is included in Amiga Forever.

The only 3.1 released by Commodore was for CD32, that shipped with 3.1 kickstart. The "full 3.1 release", which btw was the first specifically named "Amiga OS" was done by Village Tronic, on behalf of Commodore, just as it was clear that Commodore would fold... hence it too was a legal controversy at the time.

@IanP

"Amiga Kit Gotek" is not very likely, as Gotek is already a well established product name, owned by someone else, they could just as well go for Amiga Kit Office365 :)

Although that was withdrawn, there are already products in existence which allow SCSI connections to SD cards, much like the IDE to SD and IDE to CF connections that exist.

I had looked at several on ebay for connecting a higher capacity SD card to my current CSPPC to replace the UWSCSI HD it currently has.

This was partly driven by the lack of SCSI hardware working on anything higher than Windows XP as I discovered when trying to salvage data from my Amiga's UWSCSI drive after my 4000 exhibited some motherboard issues.

Opposed

I'm sure you know this, but to keep up with status on the U.K. site, it's wise to click the tabs "status" and "event history".

The "direct links" you post don't work, they don't allow such linking, so it is better to just post a link to the search engine, and specify the search criteria :)

Odd.

In chrome my "opposed" link above goes to the specific trademark, where you merely click "event history" tab to see the info.

@kolla

Possibly.

Direct links in this thread from uspto and euipo are pretty solid.
Some of the other jurisdictions are a challenge.

Benelux example
^Amongst the worst.
Even on my end I can see the static nature (url never changes) as I click through the steps.

Apologies if any links in this thread do not work for everyone.
But if there is anything in particular you can not reach, just post and I'll try to find out what's wrong.
