Maybe long enough to allow the MorphOS development team to complete the first X64 version of MorphOS.
Making Aeon, PPC hardware, and OS4 irrelevant?

My hardware + OS of choice already are irrelevant, so I have no fear

It's not May's fault. She successfully negociated with the slowest working politicians in Europe (the European 'Quango' Commission / Parliament) by coming out with a workable Phase 1 Withdrawal Agreement. The philosophically minded UK MPs can't bring themselves to ratify it because they believe it will bring short term economic hardship to the UK. What their over-thinking risk averse brains don't realise is that this Brexit limbo they are forcing on UK businesses and the general populace is the worst possible situation for uncertainty, investment and our world standing.

They need to finish with the withdrawal agreement, start proper trade negotiations with the EU (the important bit) and stop dragging their feet on principles that DON'T in any way help the man on the street who IMHO want's to be the master if his own destiny and not have to go cap in hand to EU bureaucrats every time we need permission to spend our own development money!

It's the same with Hyperion; they fight for the principle that they are the ONLY ones with the license to develop from the OS3.1 source code but care not whether they'll be any customers or even a market left to sell ANY future Hyperion products to

To quote the 90s supergroup Blur:
"Modern Life is Rubbish!"

... and if UK MPs don't like May and undermine her they play into the hands of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage! Do they prefer them? Then 'No Deal' it is

NO DEAL IS THE RIGHT WAY TO GO... As for Hyperion I have kind of lost all hope with AmigaOS 4 now with the A1222 still not out for public. Vampire SA is where my money will be going I feel. Then I can sell my A1200 mediator tower and have a faster more stable classic experience.

Ok, it's a fair opinion. Short sharp economic shock which will focus everyone on trade deals and making the best of it. NI issue is a red herring. No one is going to build physical border check points!

I'm inclined to agree with you regarding OS4.x and the Tabor delay. This is the time to launch not next year in indirect competition with the Vampire S.A. for our disposable income

Hoo? That's funny. Is that what British press is saying? Interesting. The story we are told on the continent is a different one...go figure!

My comment is nothing to do with the British press just logic. Getting 27 member states (I don't include the UK as we are not willing partners with the EU quangos anymore) to agree on anything is an arduous thing to expect. The only way the monolithic edifice functions at all seems to be because the (non-directly elected) European Commission at the top writes the actual legislature and then pressurises the (directly elected) 'Parliament' into voting for THEIR ideas and ultimately their will! A complete topsy-turvy version of democracy compared to our first past the post parliamentary democracy

May be if the 27 had taken David Cameron's requests for EU reform seriously then Brexit would never have happened. The status quo however is not acceptable to the British people. Neither is Germany's heavy handed dealings with Greece during their economic crisis. The EU has nothing to teach the world on how to promote democracy over the breadth of a continent. The EU is fostering frustration by reducing the accountability of politicians, laziness by fostering EU handouts rather than letting sovreign nations manage their own taxes themselves (e.g. for farming and development) and apathy by attempting to equalise wealth across the continent breaking the link between hard work, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and financial reward.

I guess not everyone believe in federalist super state and most Brits were quite happy with a trading bloc rather then the political and economic farce it has become

You may want to look at the original release date of AmigaOS 3.1(hint it's in the original manual). Ironically iirc Hyperion admitted cloanto owned all versions released 92 and prior.

I wonder what this judge thinks about the Amiga and all its parties. He gets to know more than he ever wanted to know about this old computer, lol.

But I suppose it is just a job, be professional, earn money and move on...

On Reaction... has the "acquisition" of Reaction been confirmed by the original authors (caldi, newlook etc)? Did Hyperion buy it? If so, with what money? OS 3.1.4 earnings? As far as I recall, there are limits for how much a company with large debts can use on acquisitions. I understand there are people (and probably Hyperion too) pushing for use of Reaction on some OS 3.1.4 successor, but that the actual developers are reluctant.

Judging from the public records (which lags behind BTW), almost everything is paid for by an ever increasing debt to the owners. In other words, the owners pay for things with their own personal money and write it up as debts in the company bookkeeping.

They have to be careful doing that. Can get into trouble fast if done wrong. Like putting money in to the business to buy things when it is indebted to third party non-business owners or buying in the name of the business with their own personal funds

@number6 @thread

Bottom line, if I understood correctly the 24 pages of the complaint,

Cloanto is arguing that Hyperion cannot produce or sell anything that can run on the so defined "Amiga Classic" platforms or that can run on emulation of the so defined "Amiga Classic", and cannot use the boing ball and various other labels and trademarked terms.

The way I interpret their complaint, is that, since this had been in place for so many years, the trial should effectively ratify an accepted commercial practice.

Christopher Aldi has been finally paid. It's been only 20 years...

I have no clue why Thomas is making statements about payment for purchases for Hyperion, instead of Hyperion themselves though...

Perhaps it has something to do with Hyperion looking for a spokesperson. *shrug*
