Hi all
Amikit X is released im sad it is now a paid for product with no option to try first. £25 is a bit steep as you will also need AMiga forever for the roms. I have amiga forever 2012 but am waiting for 2017 version

Then When AmiKit 11 comes out the X wil be free?

I do not mind paying for something that has a lot of work and have a lot of software but I'll wait for the linux version though

@Fransexy

Same here.... I have a nice i7 that uses Ubuntu right now. Came with Windows 8.1 but I removed it. Can't have windows any place on it.

So a linux version would be sweet. I can then turn my i7 into an Amikit X system to go along with my X5K and A1222.

Hi,
1) Do you know if it works with touchscreen (MS-Surface) ?
2) is it possible to start Amikit in fullwindow mode at the start of Windows ?

Thank you for your reply.

I booted from the Ubuntu CD (most are live bootable these days), had it erase the hard drive windows was on, then installed ubuntu on that drive.

I believe it works, but's it's not optimized for touchscreen.

Well, this is difficult with Windows... or Mac.

@all
Linux version might appear too. No promises, though (I am not a Linux user myself). Thank you for your interest!

What do you expect to change in the roms between these versions?

@AmiKit

Hi Jan,

This will have to wait until payday.

I see one of the purchase options is for both AmikitX and Flowerpot.

My question is, will they work together?

Is it possible to switch between them from within the Amiga environment? Or would that be via Rabbit Hole?

Thanks,

Fred

@OldAmigan

Fred, I just sent you a free download link. Thank you for your help with AmiKit.

Note that Flower Pot and AmiKit are completely different products. It's not possible to switch between OS4 and OS3 on the fly... but that would be cool for sure :)

@Amikit

Installed, started as "RTG Full-window" with full window UAE configuration as mentionned in the documentation but all rabbit-hole programs starts as window look and display the window bottom toolbar (Windows 8.1)

What I did wrong ?

Thanks

PS : and Steam doesn't seems to start at all.

@Epsilon

Thank you for your review, it confirms that my "problem" is normal (see above)

Unlike in the ALICE video, windows programs are not really integrated on Amikit, it seems that it's a just an external theme that make illusion.

I thought that it will be transparent and that windows programs will not look alien... :(

Amikit, could you confirm that this VLC window border is an external theme not related to Amikit ?

https://youtu.be/CtZY5gVePFE?t=73

Nevertheless, Epsilon, do you have the window bottom bar that appeared when you start a rabbitholed program ?

thanks
