I t looks like VST on Linux is now officially supported :- )
Steinberg has quietly rolled out the 3.6.7 version of their plug-in SDK for Windows, Mac, iOS, and now Linux

That sounds nice. Now if they could open their USB-MIDI driver as well. Last edited by Tomppeli on 25-Nov-2017 at 01:41 PM.

No. Connecting a Yamaha's synth over USB requires Steinberg's closed device driver on Mac and Windows. The Mac doesn't see the device on its own. But I remembered we don't have isochronous transfers on Amiga so it doesn't matter, I guess, if Steinberg's drivers were open sourced or not anyway.
@KimmoK Test it and tell us all how it works ?! The products website says it doesn't need any device drivers so that might be a good sign._________________ Rock lobster bit me. This controller is MIDI compliant |
So it should work. CAMD.library is part of the OS now, so truly "plug and Play". You can find some tools for playing with midi on OS4Depot as "CamdTools"

I must be way out of date. I wrote "To Host" software ages ago for the classic camd.library. My MU90-R has both that and standard MIDI ports.
With the UM-880 I have 8 MIDI IN and 8 MIDI Out to play with. My little BCR-2000 offers one more in and two more out, along with the control surface. And the Yamaha Piano and VMeter are both straight to USB.
Someone asked me yesterday if we can support the Triple-play-Plus on NG Amigas.. I suppose with some work we could, but USB is just so much quicker and easier on the processor.
And there will be more coming.. :) _________________ question=(2b||!(2b)) |

I forgot to ask. After the MIDI adaptor is plugged in, when the system is frozen, can it reboot? Or respond to Ctrl-Alt-Alt hardboot? I'm just wondering in case a crash log can be grabbed from the debug buffer. After a soft reboot. |
