HDF help

Hi!

I have an Amiga 1200 with 2 CF-cards. One CF-card has 2 partitions, one for boot/preferences etc. and one for programs and tools. The other CF-card has all data stored, such as documents, pictures, demos, games etc.

What I would like to do is to convert my CF-card into HDF-files (and keep current partions). The HDF-files will later be used with my PI.

I have read that it is possible to connect an Amiga formated harddrive to a PC and start WinUAE and create a HDF-file and then transfer all files. Though, my PC has no IDE-port and using an IDE->USB converter fails.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

@Am!ga

You can use just any USB CF card reader or multi card reader. For example something like this.

@thomas

After a bit of struggeling, the harddrive is showing, but I get a GM everytime I try to boot. Tried to fiddle with different settings, but no luck so far.

Yes! Mystery solved. It happened to be my USB->IDE converter that was incompatible. Got hold of an old USB CF-card-reader and WinUAE happily read and converted my partitions into a HDF file. Next step .. setting up PI.

Thanks!

Damn it those Grim Reapers have clouded my mind. GR. I knew I was close but just couldn't get there. SA would have been worse.

Software Alert.
