@amigang

I enjoy the Amiwest show.... first started attending 2010. It is a small show but the only one I know happening in USA and is uber cool that is still happens. Put on by cool folks keeping the Amiga spirit alive.

I think most of us realize Commodore and Amiga lived on longer and was much larger in europe so bound that you have tons more action over there. Also makes it easier for "real" and larger booths to happen. I see A-eon and AmigaKit and others have nice booths with tables too that makes the show look much more grand. At Amiwest it is just tables mostly and vendors come lean as travel from so far makes bringing a big booth and more inventory too expensive I bet.

But Amiwest still lives and I enjoy it every year...

If I were to guess... you have about 40 to 50 main attendees at Amiwest every year and then walk-ins and such locally my guess.... 75 to 100 total over the weekend event walk through.

Nothing close to 500+ you all have. In its hey-day though, I bet Amiwest was big but I was not an Amigan then so no idea.

Not sure where you get that idea from, because AmiWest has always been a lot more than just Hyperion announcements. It is a lot smaller than Amiga32, but still a fun show.

The Amiga32 was a special event so turnout is naturally bigger then for annual ones.

AmiWest is more in line with "Amiga Meeting Nord" (starting in 10 days) which sees similar numbers.

I do remember visiting the Amiga fair in Cologne when in 1991 (or was it 1992) it was so packed inside they had to announce to the plaza also filled with people that they wouldn't let anybody more in.....

Amiga32, Neuss: Perry Kivolowitz (Co-Founder ASDG) [English]

Contrary to what Perry has stated previously on Amiga.org, there is new information here about source code.

Perry December 2015 for former reference

Well it seems to be turning into an annual show too. Neuss is easier for people from across Europe to attend than it probably is for many American users to attend Amiwest.

@thread

Just wanted to mention what a shame it is that all the a1k links to a/v aren't viewable to non-members of the site anymore.
Perhaps this material will be/can be uploaded somewhere.

Oh, and I'd like a confirmation about this story....

The clothing police? Am I reading this right?

@number6

Thanks for bumping this thread, I hadn't visited some of the links or watched the videos first time round.
