@klx300r

I'm happy to read we still have a chance to obtain the game for which we pre-paid months and months ago

So another 8months passed since the last update I know of, was hoping for news at amiga34 or amiwest but did’nt hear anything. It’s two years since a supposedly nearly complete beta was sold. It just feels very odd that this hasn’t been released yet, maybe hanging on for the a1222? Or the next warp3d / graphic update?

@amigang

I am willing to spend money on a finished product where I know what I get or donate some money to developers to help to keep them motivated

But I will never prepay money for a software that is not finished and even development has not started

These cases with pre paid games and we never see in our hands make the creates distrust for other projects with pre orders of with finish projects.

@Templario

Was this done through Kickstarter or IndieGoGo or equivalent? There's normally protections for the investor if the deveolper doesn't deliver! Sounds like you all bank transferred money directly to Cinemaware (Version 2.0) and were overly optimistic about the outcome!

Edit: I was similarly burnt by pre-ordering AmigaOS 3.9 though AliveMediaSoft and all they had to do was take delivery of the product and act as a reseller!

The Wings and other Amiga projects weren't with IndieGoGo ir KickStarter, they directly ask is money for their figure projects with the support Amiga for the futuro and other phrases wrote in forums that this.

@BigD

Yes but what I find odd is I played a demo of this game way back in 2015
https://youtu.be/K06wHT-Kz7g
As you can see most of gameplay section looked done and if felt like the game just needed a bit more work to finish it off, so I thought wrongly that it was just months away from being released.

Now I know the dev had said he wanted to rework thing to get performance up and improve graphics etc, etc, that all great 👍 but maybe after year, two years, three years, now four years he and the publisher should say you know maybe we should just release what we got and and push updates / patch later.

This way the developer gets paid, pre-order people have something to play with, everyone happy.

You have a big reason, with one game to play the people we are happy although after the game will be patch as for example Tower 57, Amiga Racer, Ask Me Up, but the Cinemaware is a diferent case they and the developer ask money with preorders and a candy as the demo and the people we bite like a fly in honey.
The worst in the cases the people when you speak the problem try to shut up.

Memories from 2017

Quote:

After a long time of development the shipping of Rocket Ranger, Wings:RE (Amiga) has been started. Also the latest orders will be shipped now. After the last weeks of development i have to finalize the Boxes for the Amiga32-Event. After this weeks and months i need bit time to recover. The next step is to move the shop and also the distribution to an external team. With many projects in the pipeline source the package and delivery to an external partner so i can concetrate complete to development. The good news is that the order and shipping process will now runs faster. Also there will be no "pre-Order" anymore. The next project needs no pre-order anymore and will be shipped after order.

On the other hand, the prices will rise. The reason is that the new shop is located in germany and because of our tax system we have to raise the prices. instead of 44.95 US Dollar it will be 45 Euro (around 53 USD).

So if you still want to order our games for the "old" price, you have your chance till monday. retro.cinemaware.com/

After monday, the link will send you to the new shop.

Thanks again for your great support and patience.

Sven

@PR

I've officially given up, it looked like a really good game, the demo was pretty impressive in my mind, didn't think it be 5+ more years development and still not finished.

I appreciate the developer work and based what I seen and he shared it look like one of the best native OS4 ported games, but I think Cineware has gone, it unlikly my Pre-order will ever ship. No way of getting my money back.

Time to just move on, lesson learned.

@Hypex

I'm sorry if I've missed something but if it's still on Steam and a jobbing Amiga Programmer is finishing off the Amiga port then what's the problem with the finished Amiga port being put on the AmiStore?

It's all licensing rubbish I guess plus the jobbing part time programmer still hasn't finished because he does it part time and probably didn't get paid very well and definitely has no financial incentive to finish it off

Any update on this 'killer app' A1222 Plus launch game?

So is that really a big silent "THIS GAME SUNK WITHOUT TRACE" answer from the community? Are Trevor, Matthew and Steve Solie the only people that can get stuff done? Maybe the developer was waiting for a bounty or a bail out from Trevor to warrant finishing it off? Would the Amiga Developer still have the license to release it now?

Yes, it is a big shame. All thouse people who preordered it and never received it. So sad.

I would like to point out. It disheartens me to see these comments regarding Trevor. Every one seems to see Trevor as Professor Moneybags from Monopoly. Just because he has money, why should he bail out everything people decide he should.

It is indeed the same game. I preordered on PC and it was released during a show sven was at. Althought, I believe Daniel did alot of extra work on the original game code to make it better for Amiga.
