@BigD

it is a little strange... as I understand it the developer got no money but also no date to finish it. "When it is done" or "never". "Cinemaware" collected the money of the preorders and now nobody who was involved there is guilty, guilty are only the others. In any case money is lost and it is doubtful that the amiga version will be ever finished.

Neither if the developer sign a contract with Cinemaware.
The only true is that the Amiga user lost money and confidence in other projects.

By the looks of this demo, Wings Remastered should be something pretty special when it is released for AmigaOS4.1 early next year! Looking forward to it!

So this game was due for release in 2016!! This story is a mirror image of the Tabor debacle! It would be apt if they were bundled together IMHO!

@BigD Yeah, there should be a pre-order campaign for the bundle of Tabor and Wings. Every early adopter gets a T-Shirt and a mousepad. Or a cross or a bible.

I think if you asked your local church for a Bible they'd give you a copy for free!

I don't think a preorder should be necessary, just get AmigaKit, AmigaStore.eu, AmigaOnTheLake, etc stocked with an A1222 Plus bundle with ImageFX, OctaMED PPC and Wings with a discount voucher for Hollywood and they'd fly off the shelves. Just letting the mass produced batch dribble out as a stand alone in May 2021 to no fanfare will not help sell this ridiculously delayed product!

You could have got yourself a Hollywood bundle eleven and a half years ago.

That just shows that the "hardest working men in code business" would be open to another promotional offer!

A-EON/AmigaKit get on this!

@BigD

Dan released new demos of Wings Remastered for all supported systems at the beginning of the year and also posted the following about a month later.

https://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum/viewtopic.php?post_id=117372#forumpost117372

He also added a special feature for Templario in September this year.

Ha ha! Dän Bänän has a sense of humour!! His motivation seems a bit up and down but if he was approached with a A1222 Plus bundle promotion deal for the Christmas 2021 mass production (main batch 1) with a deadline to aim for and additional AmigaKit/A-EON funding (Cinemaware legal/economic situation allowing) then I'm sure he'd polish it off before then!

That is if he can keep his moral high and Templario doesn't drive him to alcoholism with his comments!

In regards to Wings, I was one of those who pre-ordered it and I also did the same for defender of the crown why back in the mists of time. Like many on here, the fact there was a playable demo etc it didn't feel like vaporware.

For a while, I was receiving updates from 'cinemaware'. Pictures of boxes and manuals from the printers being receive,d updates talking about packages being sent to those who had ordered etc. Then all of a sudden nothing. :(

Well it nice to see he is still working on it, still the nearly finished line was where it was 3 years ago, so not holding my breath on this one.

I think Im just a little annoyed by his line go get a refund if you dont want to wait any longer, but I waited and when I did try and get a refund, no reply, no way of getting a refund that I can see. I wish him luck getting paid, as i feel he likely to get screwed over just like us pre-orders holder.

Like I said before I kinda of given up hope and kissed my money good bye, it has and will effect what i support in the future, I am now a bit more careful with pre-orders/kickstarter, if I ever want to back a project, amount I pay and what protection there is for my money if the project falls flat so I am kinda grateful for the life lesson if nothing else.

Lick the daytona ass too and his answers, when you ask him about the game, if in Amiga the bad answers are the norm.
You, Daytona and the troll, you are going to be alone in this hobby.
But the game is stopped and the money lost and when you ask him only got from him that answers.
The Amiga's norm, pay and shut up?

In my case, currently only I buy finish projects with box, manual, etc. I don't believe in projects of future games and programs.

Good for you! You are learning Unless you DO have a ‘donating to the cause’ mindset that’s the best attitude to have. I doubt Trevor, Steve Solie or even Matthew Leaman (post Tabor debacle) would argue that they do what they do for the profits!

Yes, Amiga companies SHOULD deliver on promises but “when it’s done!” IS par for the course here and in the case of Bars n Pipes PPC, Worms Armageddon, SMT for AmigaOS etc, etc that might be never! Get over it and be a bit more careful in the future!

I was burned early on by Alive Mediasoft. I learnt my lessons then. People that mean well can cause us the most hurt and frustration!

Bars n Pipes was ported to OS4 sometime in the last decade by Alfred Faust and was later maintained by Lyle Hazelwood os I don't know what you're talking about.

True, but the OS4 version is so flakey that it's not good for serious day-to-day MIDI work.

I can understand it's frustrating, but your choice of words are not helping.
