| I have TV Paint 3.0 with the all important instruction manual. I was running it on my Toaster 2000 with Domino Gfx and PPS '040. Can I use this on my new X5000? Would TV Paint Picasso be the correct version to install under Picasso 96?
I take it there's no floppy drive. I do have a Dell PC online and Amiga 2000 PAR system but I need to get the disk images into the new X5000. |

I followed the link and downloaded the files successfully. However, if you start following the instructions you end up extracting the files to floppy disks! Neither the Amithlon or the X5000 have floppy drives. I already have TV Paint on floppies, I don't need another set, I need an install routine. I don't type commands in a DOS shell, that's why I bought an Amiga instead of an MS-DOS PC. It looks like my only option is to learn how to transfer a multiple floppy disk image using the current method. I also have an original A2000 PAR system. I should probably update the floppy drive there too, but I sure appreciate the link and advice. This is a great site. |

If you extract tvpd1.lha, ex.lha, cyber.lha and tvpd2.lha in the same directory, your installation is done. You will be asked for your serial number to register your copy on the first launch. Now Enjoy it on your X5000! _________________ A1200PPC / Sam440ep / Sam460ex / X1000 / X5000 OS4.1 |

Just in case, OS4 contains "DiskImage.device" contribution, which handles floppy/CD/HDD images with the help of GUI. As written above you will not need this for TvPaint, but you may find some other applications eg. in ADF format on the net. |

Thanks for the helpful advice. I downloaded the file to my old Dell PC where I have a Store 'n Go 2 Gig flash drive. I stick that directly into my Amithlon and it reads all the files perfectly. After transferring and unpacking it wants me to insert floppies to copy back to. The Amithlon came without a floppy drive, but I have a couple of USB floppies so I plugged one in and OS 3.9 recognized it right away and the disk icon appeared on the workbench. It looks like I do have DF0: on the Amithlon. I'll report back here if TV Paint is OK with that. |

That's how I'll do it on the X5000. For now, I found my Amithlon supports DF0: so I'll try my version on that. The version I have never asks for a serial number no matter where you install it. I should be able to copy my version to the Store 'n Go drive and just plug it into the X5000 USB port. I need a couple of days to fiddle with this, thanks. |

There is serial number included in the archive others linked here. It's released for free. Why wouldn't you go for the latest version?_________________ - The wiki based MorphOS Library - Your starting point for MorphOS - Software made by jPV^RNO |

I would. I just didn't know I could get the last Amiga version of it online. I'm in your debt for being so knowledgeable. I downloaded the zip file to my old Dell PC, copied it to my USB Store 'n Go flash drive which I plugged directly into my Amithlon and OS 3.9 copied it to my paint directory. All I had to do then was unzip the installer and click on it. It installed v3.6 and up popped the Paint icon. Everything needed was in the folder including serial number. The first two tries with the screen requester got me a black screen, but I could see the crosshairs moving with the mouse so I knew I was close. My third try was right and I just had to enter my name and serial # and save it. I'm looking at it right now. Many thanks! |

Thanks for the valuable info on TV Paint. They made it really easy to download and unpack the installer. I tried it with OS 3.9 on my Amithlon. Everything is included and serial # too. It installed flawlessly on my first try. |

You were right about TV Paint. Everything and serial # is included in the download. All I had to do was unpack the installer and click on it. After a little fiddling with screen modes i got the right display, entered my name, #, and saved settings. Question resolved. |

Good information as I'm going to try making an OS 4.1 laptop. The TV Paint operation went perfectly on my Amithlon OS 3.9. Many thanks. |

well for me, the TVPaint JR software does exactly what I want, I tried the upgrade back when they made us an offer but they changed it and it wasn't was quick as the older version.
