| I'm finally getting around to getting my machine running after a long time in storage, installing AmiStore, and am confused about the Enhancer Pack. There are three choices, at various prices, but I cannot find a comparison between them to describe why there is a price difference between them. Any clues? _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

From memory, it mainly relates to the RadeonHD driver. The plus edition includes the v2 RadeonHD driver with composited video. The standard edition has the v1 driver, and the SE edition is designed for systems without a Radeon HD card, and so has no RadeonHD driver or Warp3D Nova.
Amigakit has all three here so you can look at each one to double-check what's included.

Here is the official Wiki for the Enhancer Software listing the contents of it:
http://wiki.amiga.org/index.php?title=Enhancer_Software
The Special Edition is the lowest cost, it includes all of the above except Warp3D Nova, OpenGL ES 2.0 Library and RadeonHD driver. It is designed for use with 4.1 Classic, 4.1 for AmigaOne XE and SE and Sam 440.
The Standard Edition includes all of the above with the RadeonHD v1.xx driver
The Plus Edition includes all of the above with the RadeonHD v2.xx driver

Can some chart be made for a convenient side-by-side comparison? I wasn't able to notice such subtle differences in the separate web pages, and on AmiStore there isn't any meaningful detail at all between them. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

I will have several, as time allows to bring them up. First is UAE and an A4000T. Also are XE, X1000, Peg2, and a uA1 when I get he CPU replaced. Moving everything in to a rack._________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

The main differences are that the plus edition has the V2.x RadeonHD driver, Warp3D Nova and Candi. The standard edition has the V1.xRadeonHD driver, Warp3D Nova and cut down version of Candi. The special edition has non of the above but shares all other components in the package.
Basically for all the systems you listed, aside from the X1000, you'd only require the that special edition*. The X1000 would be better served with either the plus or standard edition depending on whether you want the 1.x or 2.x RadeonHD driver. 2.x differs from 1.x in that it has supported for textured video which allows some 1080p content to run at full speed on the X1000.
*you can use RadeonHD cards in the XE but so far no cards supported by Warp3D Nova or the separately available Warp3D SI driver have been confirmed as working in the XE. Basically you just have faster 2D and compositing. |
