Not really sure why you would ever need to go to such extremes to emulate such an inferior OS when you have an Amiga at your disposal. Always puzzles me that |
Back when the Amiga was released, most office productivity programs ran on MS-DOS, so being able to run those programs on the Amiga was a selling point: you didn't have to choose between Amiga and MS-DOS. The Amiga's higher speed (7MHz v. the PC's & PC/XT's 4.77MHz) and more advanced processor (true 16/32-bits vs. 8/16 bits, among other things) meant the emulation would have been pretty good.
Even so, that wasn't enough to get past the PC's massive inertia. As my father used to say, the only thing resembling technical superiority on the PC were the three letters, I, B, and M, but that was enough to wipe out an ecosystem developed by Tandy, Commodore, Atari, TI, and Apple, leaving for the most part only a rotting hulk in Cupertino until the iMac came along._________________ I've decided to follow an awful lot of people I respect and leave AmigaWorld. If for some reason you want to talk to me, it shouldn't take much effort to find me. |

| Those are in fact very good tutorials (diaries).
I only wish the A1060 sidecar was available more and more affordable.
I think I only saw one, ever, for sale at an outrageous price.
