| Just fired up my 3000 T system after 10+ years. I have 2 problems. 1 Turbo Calc is asking for my name and registration number, wow not even sure I can find my manual
2 and the big problem My hardrive is #2 and my CDRom is #6 I have a Mechware memory card reader that I have set up as #1 but when I install this I get the Amiga Floppy request on boot up.
Anyone know why? Termination is on the CDRom.
Thanks John Six |

| Pressing Left and Right Mousebuttons when Powerin/reset (Ctrl+Amiga+Amiga) to go to the boot sequence startup. Save settings. Choose from where to boot? Then check s/startup sequence in wb if needed with ed or a text program.
Got a usual battery problem in the A1. Don't know about A3000 if it has one. In the A1200 Tower we wired it outside from the 060 card so it does'nt leak in there.
Gently vacuum cleaning mb and elko change from PRofessionals..
Good if it works!

"Pressing Left and Right Mousebuttons when Powerin/reset (Ctrl+Amiga+Amiga) to go to the boot sequence startup."
easy done this many times
"Save settings. " Not an option
"Choose from where to boot? Then check s/startup sequence in wb if needed with ed or a text program. "
DHO and DF0 are the only options.

3000 only needs the battery for a date, removed mine when I first bought it.

Thanks for that list, did not work on my turbocalc, did the Icon information hopeing for a version and it deosn't say, just says last date changed was 27 Oct 97 and who made the icon Frank Neunkirchen
There are 10 spreadsheets in there I'll keep looking, this is probably a WB3.9 install problem, I should have never trusted those idiots that made 3.5 and 3,9, my amigas have never been the same
BTW I can log into that website but it refuses to let me do anything once I am logged in.
Maybe due to me being away so long?

You have termination at the motherboard side? |

CDRom is terminated but now that you have me thinking I think I do have to terminate the external port, I will try that

I removed the hardrive as I found everything I needed to get my Syquest backup to boot, now I can boot withthe memory card reader installed. When I open HD Toolbox I get a guru I may have to see if I can get a Paint program to work onthe raspberry PI and toss this Amiga in the trash

In the A3000 the battery also has other tasks, such as holding SCSI settings in NVRAM. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

It is not required, I use to have a program that would write that info to memory but it just speeds things up slightly. I bought this 3000T in 93 or 94 and removed the battery then. It was used every day till 2012 as I used it for email and html coding for my website. It is getting retired, I fired it up because I need to do some art work and wanted to use TV Paint but I am not going to waste any more time, I'll sell off what can be sold and trash the rest. Hopefully the 1200 will work or I'll have to pay someone to draw a logo.

I wonder if in the years since you left it you changed something in the software that you had forgotten about? Then just stopped uisng it.
Apart from that the HDD could have developed a mechanical fault. If it has been in stasis for so long. Could do with a filesystem check.
Likely this would be correct but you could just check the max transfer settings in the partitions nad make sure it matches the controller specifications. |

So what SCSI IDs do your disk and CD drive have? If I recall correctly, the internal SCSI controller on the A3000 defaults to 7, and without battery, you are very much stuck with that. Ah yes, I see now, 2 and 6, and then 1... never mind. Last edited by kolla on 06-Apr-2018 at 08:31 PM. Last edited by kolla on 06-Apr-2018 at 08:29 PM.

possibly but I did make copies of everything, I have 2 hard drives that are identical copies of the system before I shut it down. I also have copies of everything my Syquests EZ 135 drives.
Right now I am using a syquest copy of DHO to boot on, had to go and delete the s/ user-start up DH1-4 (my oartitions were DH1 DH2 ect) lines so it now boots up and is stable but;
still can't get the scsi memory card reader to work (it was brand new)
Can not get TVPaint juinior or any program to install from the old hard drive, probably because they are looking for a floppy. Get a read error 29 what ever that is.
I even looked online for another scsi drive, they are out there but if you want a 50 pin the cost goes to stupid and they are all used (really??)
The hard drives I have (10 of them brand new) are seagate ST34573WC which I have to use an adapter on and I only use 3.95gb.
I am going to try to get the email set up (may still work) so I can at least move some files from amiga to the PC
I tried asking on facebook and all I got was emulator people
thanks to all who tried
