| Hey Guys, Question.
I have an amikit transfer kit. But the CF and the reader with broken. Now I ordered a new CF reader and CF card (multiple) but there some trouble reading in the cards. Its a trancend 133% CF and those gets delivered on CF cards with Amikit as well.
At the time I used the kit earlier I had a ACA1230 in my system, but moved it in my other amiga and in this one I added a phase 5 1230 card.
Now when I inserted the card the first time, it showed me the card as n:dos which looks unreadable. The CF was formated FAT32, driverdisk was installed (earlier) with the fat95 files and CF0: thingy etc. so normally it should be plug and play ccomparing old situation. So I thought, maybe something wrong, so lets install the driver disk again and overwrite the old files. I did that 2 times, no avail. Then I had the driver disk in drive and started up with the disk and accidently "patched" the pcmcia port with the disk (could that do harm)
So then I thought, ok, lets put my old videocard back, and maybe its the videocard jumper on my phase 5. But when I add my old aca back, it doesnt recognise anything. No card at all. So I checked prepcard, and this shows a cf inserted.
What could be the issue? and even better, how to solve it :P |

The NDOS, or Non-DOS, really just means it's unformatted or doesn't recognise the filesystem. Fat95 should support FAT32 though in the read me it wasn't clear if it actually does. So perhaps just try formatting the card on the Workbench? If all the drivers are okay that should work.
OTOH, check the docs for your accelerator, as the PCMCIA area was a sensitive area that some accelerators rendered unusable.
It should be fine to patch the card port with a card in place as would be just a software patch. What video card do you have? I take it you have a real Phase 5 board? Otherwise you could blame it on the missing ground layer. Last edited by Hypex on 17-Apr-2018 at 02:46 PM.

| Looks like its related to the CF version (Trancend seems not to work as CF) Will get a sandisk today to check.

Now you've confirmed it with yourself, did you try any of those device flags in the mount list? I just recalled I had an issue years ago with a nice looking Kingston card that had flowers on the cover. I couldn't get it to work. IIRC I replaced it with a plain boring looking Kingston card that worked. Go figure. |
