Hey Guys! I have a wierd issue. I have no clue what is going on, but I have a AMiga 500+ with 2MB chip mem. Recapped. Good condition (at least look good :P) It has kickrom 2.05 (cloanto) and has no Hardisk or CF or something.

But there is an issue that when I use something with workbench 2.1 (Install/Workbench disks) and 1.3 (disk) or 3.1 (install disk) or even Battlechess, which starts with Workbench invironment. when clicking/opening a few drawers, it simply will hang/gets stuck/freeze!! I have the 500+ a few weeks, but I remember that I think it did work the first time I booted the Amiga with Workbench that I could do a syspref...

The wierd thing is, that when I play disk games, it goes fine without issues and or freezing. Tested 4 games for a while (Desert Strike, Lemmings, Loom and Lure of the Temptress) without any problems. So it looks like something Workbench related or something....

I am now fearing (want to put a vampire in this system, that I will get more issues with workbench in there as well....

@Paulthetall

I had the same issue with my a1200t when I kick started it to 1.3 games work fine but as soon it went to workbench if frozen, I figured it out that it was the kickstart 1.3 version I change to a different kickstart 1.3 version and it was fine so I mite be that your kick start 2.05 is for a600 or other amiga not your 500+

@amigat
Thanks for the reply. I was planning to get a kickrom for 3.1 anyways. I will let you guys know, how it works out.

Still wierd because its a cloanto kickrom and if I check the website it says:
"Kickstart ROM 2.05 for Amiga 500/600/2000" so it should work normally...

@Paulthetall

I see something interesting. On Vesalia: http://www.vesalia.de/e_kickstart[8910].htm
"Kickstart 2.05 (rev. 37.350) is required to run Workbench 2.0x and 2.1. If you own an Amiga 600 with Kickstart 2.x and a revision below 37.300, you need to upgrade in order to use the internal IDE controller (there is no scsi.device in revisions below 37.300, so there's no way to access the HDD).
Kickstart 2.05 is only available for Amiga 500, 600 and 2000. "

While 2.05 is only for 600 on Amigakit.com and Kickstart 2.04 Rom Chip v37.175 for the (A500/A500+/A1500/A2000)

So it may be that Amikit is aware of the bug, but Vesalia is not. Or the try to explain it under: "If you own an Amiga 600 with Kickstart 2.x and a revision below 37.300, you need to upgrade in order to use the internal IDE controller (there is no scsi.device in revisions below 37.300, so there's no way to access the HDD)."

@Paulthetall
Solved. Took the 2.05 Kickrom out, and added Kickrom 3.1 build-in solved the problem.
