this is my feeling as well.

beta-testers have had them running since 2016. My issue is why the heck sooo much silence and not constant updates

@klx300r

On-board networking / sound chips have NEVER been supported quickly with AmigaOS drivers. This time it can't be released without them as expansion ports are minimal on the Tabor hence we'll wait ages I'm afraid

Perhaps we are also waiting longer due to the possibility of offering it as a laptop towards the end user base, or having that possibility for the end user base?

As for the specifications, it does not seem too bad, RAM wise for once should be hitting the standard category, Gfx wise, well, what are we upto now? 512mb? 1gb?

As fort he CPU, 1.2ghz, will it run better than the netbook by lenovo with the atom? :D

I think CPU wise is good choice for an entry level laptop / motherboard......

Cheers.

Because to produce updates you need developers rather than betatesters

Hans' DIY laptop is his own side project and wouldn't have any impact on the release of Tabor. What we are waiting for are completed network and audio drivers.

Ok thanks Rob.

Yes I had a further look into it and noticed that its actually a DIY rather than an actual ready to go laptop.
But having said that, I personally think it is still good if it comes with clear instructions for the end user base, as not all of use are handy like that.

Cheers

@Rob

Shame on you Rob, did you not read my last blog?

Onboard networking is now supported on the AmigaOne A1222 and, a bit like two buses coming at the same time, a couple of solutions might be available to end-users.

@Petah

Never! In another year or two the bottom will fall out of the hardware market as people start buying Raspberry Pi's for gaming and smart phones for their social media. Who needs an over overpriced Amiga anymore. No one I know has a computer these days. The Amiga ceased being a consumer electronic product in 1999 Leave it RIP! Anyone who can't get a Beta tested product to market after 2 years is out of money.

My first thought after reading your comment was: Whaaat? are you serious? Then I saw your nickname...

Guess I should start on my next project soon: a Tabor based smartphone.

It looks like that's already in beta.
