It will be a hard read at the end I reckon. I've just realised that Jimmy White lost to Stephen Hendry in the World Championship Snooker on 2nd May 1994 after missing a black off the spot before Stephen Hendry cleared up only three days after C= had gone into voluntary liquidation! Harsh times

I don't think I ever really got over either of those things to be honest. It was also about the time Power Rangers started to take over from The Racoons and the 80s reruns of Pole Position and ThunderCats and other higher quality children's programmes in the UK. I guess we all have to grow up but to have your sporting hero crushed, you favourite technology company crushed and see mind numbing japanese style cartoons (Pokeman eventually came in 1997 to sweep everything aside) take over from well written American and British ones was brutal. I guess the mid 90s really were a drastic time of change! I don't think school was particularly easy around that time either. Maybe I should have had counselling

Backed that even though I was entitled to get it from the level I backed the Amiga Years at

Final 5 day push! Grab the book and a A0 sized poster of the Fat Angus chip mask (for an extra CAD $50)!

I for one hope we get another 8 colour photos at the 90k stretch goal A photo of the speed bumps spray painted with Mehdi Ali and Irving Gould's names at the Deathbed Vigil would be good

£50 is a bit step I did not pay that much for the Amiga years or the first book. Think I wait a bit and see if the pledge amounts change.

It's $40 for a physical copy of the book. That's just £23.14 at today's exchange rate, and also gets you the eBook version and some personalised business cards.

@Daedalus

You forgot the shipping to add to it.

Not sure about exchange either

Shipping is a given for anything you order from so far away. It was the same for the previous books, was it not? It appears so looking at the Amiga Years Kickstarter page. Anyway, if it's a big deal then you can just wait until Amazon have it and get it for around the £23 mark. That's what I did with the Amiga Years.

The pricing on the campaign is in Canadian dollars, not US dollars. Totally different currency.

The CAD $50 was for the huge A0 poster of the Fat Angus. The hardcover book works out at CAD $40 (£23 or £28 with P&P included) and the e-book is CAD $22.

Have to say I tend to agree with you. However I've also contributed to the latest Kickstart campaign.

@TrevorDick

I view it more as a contribution to cataloguing the 'Commodore Story' for historical prosperity rather than getting exactly what I paid for despite Brian increasing the content. Also, the airbrushing of the history of home computing and computing in general is so rife that we owe it to the world to make the Commodore version of events available to the world. "To the victor the spoils" shouldn't apply to history.

Kickstarters fail everyday and don't deliver on their promises but at least we know Brian is capable of delivering a quality product.

Yes we need this book so I've supported the campaign as well.

@g01df1sh

I think Dave Haynie should write a book with RJ Mical and Bill Herd as contributors! That would be class. It could just be a collections of anecdotes and musings from the Commodore years!

I'd love to see a reprint of the second edition of the first book - they're rare and stupidly expensive.
