Well, regarding amiga.org, it bears the symptoms of lack of planning and perhaps some ignorance regarding GDPR (which wasn't invented last month, but more than a year ago).

It's quite possible to do such migrations without much downtime, and certainly one could have made a good estimate for how long it would take by simply doing a test migration first. well ahead of the set migration date

And perhaps most important - by doing updates and upgrades often and regularly, one can avoid all this in the first place.

Well, hopefully, when it is back up, it will be better maintained than it has been the last years.
