Ah great. I think we all wish that we took more pictures back in the days - but taking pictures then was not as "easy" as today

May I use the picture for BigBookOfAmigaHardware.com and if yes, what name should I give credits to?

Do you remember which approx date the show was held and what was the location besides NYC?

Yes the frustration was palpable. I can only imagine how frustrated the folks at NewTek (and other big players) was.

Funny, Amiga is pretty much a dead issue, and NewTek is rolling right along.
Their latest hardware and the software that supports it is very cool.

@JimIgou

The relevance of the Amiga would be increased significantly if the platform weren't hamstrung by incessant legal squabbles.

Just look at the Atari VCS campaign.

@BigD

I absolutely love that tower too. It was on the front cover of the swedish magazine Datormagazinet. We didn't know how bad the situation with Commodore was when it was released but man was it gorgeous. The other tower doesn't look near as good as this one.

It looked amazing then and it looks amazing now still.

I miss Commodore and the Amiga and what it used to be.

You can absolutely use the photo! Credit to Michael Boulanger.

Let me do some digging tomorrow AM, I probably still have the original show ticket....

@bitman

So, I did some digging and I went to the World of Amiga show for I believe 3 years in a row:

http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa_tickets.jpg

I don't recall going in 1993. Is it possible they were showing an early 4000T in 1992?
Unfortunately there's no date on the back of the photo that I can read.

Here are a few more photos I found, less interesting. Some are dated 1991:

http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa1.jpg
http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa2.jpg
http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa3.jpg
http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa4.jpg
http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa5.jpg
http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/woa6.jpg

Based on the film brand/type, I believe this picture was taken on the same date as the one with the 4000T in it. Note the Commodore logo, lack of Amiga logo, and different keylock location on this 4000. It makes me think they were demoing both the 4000 and 4000T at the same show before either was released. I believe both photos were from April 1992:

@Kremlar

Great photos It's interesting if the machine was demoed already in 1992 - maybe some Commodore people from then can confirm this.

I think the A4000T picture I have, is a scaled version - the pictures you have uploaded now is in a higher resolution - do you have the A4000T in the same resolution?

Here is the one I have:

http://www.techav.com/misc/woa/4000t.jpg

The other ones are higher resolution. The photos are pretty crappy anyway, so not sure a higher resolution scan would help much.

I've decided (again) to sell my A4000T (shown in the OP of this thread).

If you would like to follow the auction, it can be found here on eBay

Old members of Amigaworld might remember that is has been listed before. What happend then and the bad decissions regarding the previous saleattempt and pricing-considerations can be read in this post.
