Just do not place any files in "sys:morphos". This is a protected folder and should not be touched by users. Fortunately, you do not have to place your personal wallpapers inside the same directory where the built-in ones are stored. Just point Ambient to the copy on your "Work:" disk and you will have no issues when you update to MorphOS 3.12 in the future.

And generally users can create equivalent dirs to SYS: which are then preserved in a system update. For example, OS provided wallpapers are found in SYS:MorphOS/Prefs/Wallpapers, so put your own wallpapers to SYS:Prefs/Wallpapers etc. Same applies to device drivers, classes, libs, and anything.

But you can always do this if you like: How to Make MorphOS Look Like OS4 ;)

Yes i have already spotted that one from a quick read this afternoon of the library, i guess its no different from installing say Debian Linux and adding a Mate based desktop

I've so used to have monitors with built-in USB hubs, that I won't ever buy a new monitor without it. It's a perfect solution for a Mac mini IMHO. USB ports are also better positioned that way than behind the machine.

I actually quite like that idea, although out of curiosity how is the data for the USB port transferred to whichever base machine you are using? I am currently using a Samsung T24D391 monitor/TV which for a LED TV gives surprising good output with a lot of my huge retro game computer and console collection via through RGB Scart and of course it gets used with both my X5000 and Mac Mini G4 so any replacement monitor would have to be better than this one. Its that good i even get good output using an Atari 7800 with an RF lead and it doesn't look bad which is a complete rarity for modern screen TV's

The ones I have (3 LCD monitors currently, and I even had one CRT with built-in hub in the past) all connected to the computer from their type-B connector, so a cable from that squarish type-B connector to the normal flat USB type-A connector in the computer. Then monitors have several normal type-A connectors where you can plug devices in. My monitors have usually 4 type-A USB ports for devices, two behind are good for mouse or keyboard that don't need to be re-plugged all the time, and two on side for easy access for USB sticks etc. Mac mini itself has also one free port after connecting monitor to the other.

@jPV

interesting , will keep an eye out for that type of monitor in future and yes having say the USB stick or Joypad plugged in as an easy access makes quite a bit of sense.

I'll be having a good playaround with the setup of MorphOS over the next few days that's for sure

@outrun1978

You could use a bluetooth Apple keyboard with Mos, configure under Osx then wipe the drive with a Mos installation or dual boot. Then you also have a cd-eject key.
