| Hey Guys, here some help request on my Amiga 1200. I got his in a bundle sale. When launching the Amiga to workbench on the hdd it halfway gives an error message:
"KCS DHD V1.70 switch not in the middle position or drive failure. , Reset and retry. "
Then it boots to workbench, but I see only a clock icon, theat its waiting/loading, and nothing happens . I can move the mouse, but when clicking nothing happens.also right mouse button, doesnt react.
hdd works fine in other A1200. There is no accelerator in the Amiga 1200. So I have no clue where this comes from. Any ideas? |

Browsing that phrase on the net: "KCS DHD" should be HD FDD controller. Do you have any documentation about this hardware? |

If you have a look on BBOAH for KCS it tells you a bit about the FDD controller which pavlor has mentioned.

Alright nice piece of hardware, but what should I practicly do? I have no external hardware connected except mouse, and it gives the error message on boot. Even when I I have no Floppy drive connected to main bord/cable it gives the error. |

I suspect installed driver software is cause of your problems. Remove all KCS parts from startup-sequence/user-startup/WBStartup/DOSDrivers. |

great thanks, probably first boot from workbench disk, or it won't react. Keep you guys posted.

Solved. I attached a floppy flat cable to diskdrive. (was missing) and now the error is gone.
Thanks guys for the reactions. Last edited by Paulthetall on 14-Aug-2018 at 10:28 AM.
