Hi all

This might make a good handheld Winuae device :)

@g01df1sh

The PGS Lite might be the winner for UAE given the physical keyboard and it's actually more ergonomic.
Some of the buttons on the Hardcore (Ti) are way too close to the screen. Could make pressing UP-arrow and Y buttons challenging.

@g01df1sh

Pretty mediocre actually.
I have a 4 year old tablet with the same specs. Winuae is just too heavy for it. Most stuff works okay-ish, but it's *always* struggling and drops frames/slows down/messes with sound.
An i3 or above is pretty much bottom of the barrel for a decent Winuae experience these days.
Winuae is much, much, much heavier than e-uae, p-uae, etc.

Hehe,.... I like their out and out blatant lies on that page too. Funny stuff.
"Most powerful handheld in the world"?.... haha,.... how did they conclude that? The device uses the absolute low end mobile hardware. The GPD XD Win2 uses hardware about 3x as powerful, so out and out lie vs even that (and theres more powerful devices still).

When it comes to more affordable stuff ARM is a better option for Amiga emulation. The hardware is much weaker, but the Amiga emulators are a lot more basic, ergo run better on lower specs.
My personal favorite handheld device for Amiga emulation is the GPD XD. Picked one up recently for $30.
Cant stand touch screen gaming for anything that originally uses a joystick/joypad, so the GPD XD's physical buttons, dpad and thumbstick make it so much more enjoyable than on my tablet.

@fishy_fis

I have been looking at them GP XD devices as well. I'm like you I need buttons not virtual buttons on a glass screen.

@fishy_fis

I agree about the buttons. I once tried a UAE on my first smart phone. And when it displayed an overlay for joystick I could see it would obfuscate the screen which it did. Totally uunsuitable. Adding further to my annoyance of unreal glass buttons. I also thought it rather ignorant of the software as my phone had a cursor key and button inside. Why wasn't it looking at that? Instead of blocking the screen. Made sense to me. Speed seemed okay IIRC for a basic A500.

@g01df1sh

I've taken a real liking to the GPD XD since I bought it. A bargain at $30

I've not used it this way, but it could be used as a fully fledged computer too if someone was inclined.
Has hdmi out so you can use an external screen and just use the device as a controller and/or bluetooth for adding a mouse/keyboard/extra controller(s). You can also plug a 2nd controller into the gpd xd via micro usb for mutiplayer games if a person is inclined.

I can't claim to know all of these sorts of devices available, but I've been impressed with the GPD XD so far. Satisfies any want I have from such a device (granted I don't use it a lot, but it well and truly ticks all the boxes I have for that type of thing).

@thread

I'm looking to get the latest GPD XD+ to be used mostly as an Amiga gaming handheld, but in the meantime I will be trying out some homebrew on my rarely used PS Vita.
