Ah let's be pedantic. I see questions in two of the posts, but you are right. "Questioning" should have been better wording. _________________ x86/MorphOS 4.0

The only bit relevant to this thread is part of Raziel's post

And a question regarding the whole 3D/NOVA mess.
I do port stuff, some of which use OGL2/3 and shaders, right now, i *cannot* use them/port them, because i miss the drivers (and probably more).
What "exactly" do i need to get/buy to be able to provide and use OGL2/3 with shaders. Drivers? Programs? Enhancer version? |
In answer to his question. You need at least the standard edition of Enhancer which contains the developer files needed for Warp3D Nova and OpenGLES2 application development. |

Yes, it does...but it doesn't have the drivers. So i "could" develop/port for GLES, but not test it, for that i need to buy another Enhancer "upgrade" (?) |

The standard and plus editions have the drivers. Only the special edition lacks them. |

From what I can tell only the Enhancer Plus edition has the 3d version of RadeonHD which is V2 and Nova. So looks that is a requirement to get the 3d drivers. Or the best way from scratch since I don't see all 3d stuff needed avaialble seperately. |

Warp3D Nova and Open GL ES 2.0 are present in the Standard Edition and Plus Edition Enhancer News Item
The difference between the V1.x and V2.x drivers is that the V2.x use the compositing to enhance video playback. No difference in 3D performance .

Plus you can't update from RadeonHD 2 Driver version 2.10 to newer versions when you got the Standard edition...that's what they never tell.
Instead you have to buy an "upgrade" to the "Plus" edition to be able to get updates.
I wonder what versions the next Enhancer will bring...Light, Student, Classic, Revival, User, Developer, Side-Chick, Hot-Summer, European, Canada, U.S., Not-quite-the-full-version-but-with-a-little-more-money-it-will-be, take a guess? |

There will always be some kind of cost . Be it money or time or both. You need to be able to enjoy some aspect of the platform or get some financial returns from it to be happy. Each person has to find their own area that works for them .
Matthew announced that certain new components will be available as separate bundles . These should open up 3D opportunities for AmigaOS 4.1 machines from the Sam460ex's and up.

That's an old news item. You mean I wasted my time getting the Plus edition when the Standard still had the 3d drivers?
They need to specify this infomation a bit better. The newest I can find is on here and it doesn't state the differences. A bunch of components with tiny footnotes doesn't obviously show the difference between the packs.
I like tables with things like a cascading list of components on each pack. And meaningful names. Not meaningless libray files intended for a programmer.

Can't say wasted .
I currently have 5 licenses for the various versions of the Enhancer . Pricing, Marketing and Distribution needs change over time. I expect the distinction between the versions to be more clearly defined and or some sub groups available as an extras bundle .

I expect ONE Enhancer 3.0 with ALL the updates (that are available) to and with ALL the stuff that was in the previous "bundles/editions/whatever".
ONE edition to give everyone the chance to get up-to-date with NO degraded software licences or half-bought software that needs to be "upgraded/bought again" later on.
Everything else i won't waste money on. |

How about basic without the RadeonHD,Polaris and Warp3DNova drivers. Then Plus including the drivers. Also an option to upgrade to the drivers from the Plus package from the basic package. _________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |

Nope, you can already buy parts of the Enhancer package (including the drivers) out of the package. They kept that policy in the past, so they'll keep it in the future.
Just keep the package what the package is, a full compilation of EVERYTHING, not just some parts nobody would normally waste money on. |

We will see how it plays out . But if things don't go as you would like please don't go off in a huff . There is a reason for the "Gift for " Someone else option in AmiStore . So we could get you any of the Enhancer components that you need to be productive . _________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |
