If something like this had been done on a Vampire, people would be heralding it like the second coming.

In the meanwhile, it IS entry level hardware.

my thoughts exactly. it would certainly be impressive for 68k hardware introducing some sort of 3d acceleration. but its hard to expect general public to be excited with this level of performance on some orthodox hardly supported hardware, while there are loads of penny worth devices, that can do so much more.

Helping those who might not understand this humorous reference:

Quote:
Waiting for Godot (/ˈɡɒdoʊ/ GOD-oh[1]) is a play by Samuel Beckett, in which two characters, Vladimir (Didi) and Estragon (Gogo), wait for the arrival of someone named Godot who never arrives

@wawa

While it was created in France by an Irish author, we practically never use this reference (I had never heard of it).

Now i know it and understand better what gregthecanuck meant.

Thanks number6 !

Usually in France we would better say "la Tabor c'est l'Arlésienne"

@Ami603

So the delay in getting the product to market is due to the QA being hyper-vigilant?

Given the amount of time invested in this project and the fact that it leverages an OS that has only nominally evolved in the last 15 years, it's safe to say that beta testing is not the problem.

@number6/thread

Yes the reference to Godot was intended to be humorous. :)

This is NOT any sort of poke at the developers working on OS4 and/or OS3. Given the chance/time/funding/support decent code does come out of the process. Any developer I have had contact with has been very passionate on their aspect of the code/design.

@K-L

I'm of Irish decent from a family that moved first from France to Ireland, and then to the United States.

In the US "Waiting for Godot" is quite well known. But then we are a polyglot society.

I Got it. The better company rename would be "Take-Two-More-Weeks Entertainment" but that is kind of long.

Cool family history. Same here. French Normans (de Caunteton) -> Ireland -> New York -> California (gold rush) -> Australia (gold rush) -> Canada.
