@sibbi

How long may that new password be?

I'm trying to change mine and always land on this page

Password must be at least 8 characters long, contain at least one uppercase character, and a numeric digit

I do have all of these, but my password will be 26 characters long

@Raziel

OK, seems as if the AW.net server chokes on passwords longer than 24 chars...a well

Failing that, the longest passphrase you can remember, include punctuation and include some non obvious symbols in the middle of words to break them up in ways that permutation attacks won't think of (as it increases the search space too much).

Misspell a word or two, too.

@Thread

I got another threatening email from the supposed 'hacker' of AmigaWorld today. How many years is this security breach going to affect us? Once breached and forever emailed? "Only Amiga"

And for the last time:

NO, I DO NOT CONSIDER MY EMAIL ADDRESS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE!

... before someone comments

@BigD

Once your email address is leaked to hackers/spammers once, there's not much you can do to stop this sort of thing (apart from using an email whitelist or switching email accounts, but both of those options are quite drastic).

What is clear is that there's nothing AW mods/owners can do to help you with this. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

They can categorically acknowledge that the hack occurred and they can make sure that it never happens again. If they patch, upgrade and learn from this breach then it's worth it. If not I feel like I'm I'm suffering in vain.
