with a SCSI2SD instead of an SCSI HD inside. Works like a charm but :
There's a switch to turn on/off the SCSI device and also FastRam Memory. I always touch these switches when Amiga 500 is off. But is it dangerous to turn on/off or off/on the SCSI device during the A500 is powered on ?

I've never had that setup. But my A1200 with Ferret SCSI had a CDROM on the SCSI bus that I would turn on and off as needed. And I didn't see a problem there, though your hardware is different.

Although I can't say whether it would be dangerous I could see it causing some software confusion in that if a program is expecting the devise to be there and it is then switched of it may cause an error or worse crash. in the other direction the devise may not be recognised if not on when workbench has booted by other means. I noticed you only asked this for the SCSI and take it you have already worked out that doing so with the ram would almost certainly cause problems especially if its in use when turned off.
Do you have the manual with it, I'm sure any dangers would be explained in that.

Kinda the same as the A590 and that warns about switching off the sidecar with the 500 switched on. Quite a few sidecars don't have switches on the units to prevent them being accidently switched off. Most Amiga manuals when discussing peripherals and expansions do advise never to switch them off and on when the Amiga is running. Also never like ever pull the unit out whilst there is any power off.
Can't say for sure but worth observing those simple rules. Why risk it ?
Nice looking sidecar. Haven't got one of those. I the equivalent card for the 2000 but not the sidecar. Nice.
