| I have an Amiga 1000. What is the chance of seeing its chip-set being put onto FPGA if one of my chips cease to work?

None, three (or four) FPGAs are much more expensive than one big FPGA.

That sounds a lot like the Clone-A project. I'm not sure if he will ever sell it though, or if it will become some other form. 4 |
Clone-A was demoed from Jens Schoenfeld, he did try to find some investors for a 'game related project' maybe some kind of C64DTV with ECS/AGA chips. But finally he only sold the 'Turbo Chameleon 64' that could run a Minimig ECS core.
There is little to now chance for a FPGA Amiga Chipset replacement by Jens Schoenfeld. For this simple reasons:
1. There are plenty of FPGA projects that can replace the whole Amiga Chipset (Minimig ECS/AGA on FPGA or Vampire)
2. According to Jens Schoenfeld, he is the biggest owner of original ECS/AGA chips for the Amiga. So he won't build FPGA replacements as long he has the original chips. |

| @ thread Okay, thanks. I guess I would have to hunt down a 16 bit or 32 bit micro controller to emulate it. If I ever get around to it.

So what is he doing with those original ECS/AGA chips? There are people recreating A4000 clone circuit boards out there. But I cannot see that I can buy an A4000 motherboard and build my own tower. What am I missing here? |

He better hurry up, or other A1200 clones will take that market away. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Yup, Chuky's ReAmiga 1200 looks better since it's not dependant on Inviduals other products. And you can already get a bare board if you have required soldering skills. |

| @Rose Isn't that a more or less standard Amiga 1200 motherboard? The reloaded one is claimed to have significant enhancements.

Get a Mister FPGA board and put it in a tower case and you will have an AGA engine for under 300$.
In 3 years (or sooner) you can replace the mister board with a Vampire V4. And all this for less money than a A4000 mainboard. |
