@simplex

Some explanation

if you decide to contribute to the AROS project ITSELF, you've to go for the ABIv1 route, since this is the one actively developed by the AROS devs.

if you decide to create applications for AROS, then you are encouraged to write easily portable software that can be compiled either on low and big endian, with 64-bit aware structures and, since you're at it, please consider writing software in a SMP friendly way, to make the most of the experimental 64bit version and be prepared for future developments.

But if you write an application for AROS and you want also USERS, you have to compile it for different targets, i386 ABIv0 is the most used, known and tested. ABIv1 68K is the branch for Amiga computers, while other flavours might be much talked about, but they actually lack users.

@paolone

I used to support AROS, even did a monthly thing years and years ago. My issue right now and has been for years is the filesystem. It is horribly outdated. It only supports a 120gig partition. Anytime I have ever seen any discussion as to doing something newer I see the same thing. None of the devs are really interested..... use NTFS for a 2nd partitions, write it yourself... blah, blah, blah.
