Hello

My Games&Emulators partition doesn't work as it should.It has when running ScummVM games when saving points of the game you have reached.

I want to try with others than ngfs likr SFS for example.

Do you have some tips?

What are the pàrameters?

There are no parameters.

1. Backup your partition to USB pen, whatever tool you like filemaster, Dopus4.
2. Go into media tools box, change filesystem from NGFS to SFS2.
3. Reboot, and format partition.
4. Copy the files back to partition.
5. And now you have SFS2

And there is no other way do this.

Normally Amiga people have 3 or 4 partitions on hard drive.

a Workbench partition, for the OS. (2Gbytes be fine for AmigaOS4)
a Work partition for programs and tools, stuff like that.
a partition for games.
a partition for music and films, holiday photos or whatever.

A second hard drive for backup, so you have a mirror copy of what you have on main HD, so ig your main HD brakes, you can find a backup somewhere, or burn it to CDR or whatever. there many way to organize backups. USB pen drivers work too.

And remember that USB pen partition must be in Amiga compatible format to get an exact copy that preservers Amiga's protection bits, file comments, exact dates, etc. There have been recent threads explaining all the shortcomings if you'll just backup to an alien filesystem like FAT or NTFS. You can search the threads if want to know more.

It is likely its a SATA HD inside your USB HD box, you might connect over SATA if your having problems with USB. Anyway some USB HD needs a bit extra power too, powered switched is a option if your having problems.

Here scummvm save games in NGFS partition...
you need enter in edit game
options
paths
and enter here where you can save the game.

The problem goes now with the loading of MAME and its roms.

When I try to load some of my 7000 roms it doesn't work.

May I copy and format the partition?

It seems corrupted

I suposse is SFS/02 but I don't remember now

For sfs/02 you need buy aeon enhancer and edit your kickstart ..
Adding this:

MODULE Kickstart/SmartFileSystem.
Remember if you change filesystem to actual partition you lost all data.

I always ran my directories through an Ami specific compressor, like lha; may save some space, but more importantly, saves the file structure, including the protection bits. even if the backup gets put on something crazy like .ext4....

SFS/00 is fine if you only need 32-bit file lengths. If you have 64-bit flles then will need SFS/02. SFS/00 can be repaired. Not sure if SFS/02 can.
