@g01df1sh

Unfortunately, the pollster is limited to 7 choices (options).

Although I would have liked to see OS4 in the list, I have no issues with the 7 choices listed.
My personal definition of "Amiga" is very broad and inclusive.

@g01df1sh

AmigaOS4.1 FE is what i use.

My second mostly used install of Amiga OS is Amiga OS 3.1.4 emulated using E-UAE
running on AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edtion Update 1.

@g01df1sh

None of the above.

Why four options of very old Amiga 3.x (one would have done) and no option for OS4.1 ?

@BillE

Because he is biased against OS4.1 and probably wished that flavour doesn't exist
I mean Amithlon can't be run except through major tweaking of specific x86 hardware! Crazy to add it above OS4.x!

Also, note that no one uses OS3.5 above OS3.9 because the same people who bought OS3.5 upgraded to OS3.9! Obviously!

I would move to replace OS3.5 and Amithlon with Workbench 1.3 (game compatibility on a stock A500) and OS4.1. Can the mods do that with the poster's consent?

@Thread

So all this does is make out that the most popular OSes on AmigaWorld are AROS (as if), OS3.1 (which I could believe) and OS3.1.4 (no way)!!! I don't think this is representative and as it doesn't include sensible selections we'll never know

Well why do you think, that AOS4.1 was left out?

Changing a choice would not be a good idea as people who already voted for something else would have voted for AmigaOS 4 and Amithlon votes would go to AmigaOS 4. The only way to change a choice would be to reset all voting but then the thread comments would not match (better to create a new poll in a new thread). The purpose of a poll is to gather statistics so try to avoid flaws and bias. Please think carefully about how the question is worded and the choices available next time.

There's only one Amithlon vote Plus the AmigaOS4.x brigade are far more likely to post abuse in the comments than vote for AROS, Workbench 3.1 or OS3.1.4

If it makes the poll more balanced then it's worth it, but then again your probably biased againt OS4.x hence your comment

@BigD

I'm sure one Amithlon won't matter

It is important to maintain good methods when polling or the results become less useful. The following are basic rules to follow.

1) voters can only vote once
2) the question can not change
3) vote choices can not change

I created a poll myself. We will see if I did any better job of avoiding errors and biases.

I voted Amithlon as I use it more than my A4000D or A4000T. I use it more than WinUAE as well....

My Amithlon is a 3.9 BB2 with Kickstart 3.1.4 and then WB 3.1.4 overlayed.

While I am very jealous and dream of owning a A.L.I.C.E. to attempt to achieve that functionality on modern mainstream hardware, you are in a ridiculously small minority of people that have got that set up to work and for this poll Amithlon is a very clear outlier! AmigaOS4.x whatever we think of expensive custom hardware is an actual contender and even more so once the Tabor is released.

If I added OS4 I would need to leave another one out.

You really only need five choices:

1. AmigaOS 3.x
2. AmigaOS 4.x
3. AROS
4. MorphOS
5. Other / none / pancakes

Too many choices just obscures the results, especially when the sample size is low.

@bison

Either way Amiga Classic users with OS version before 3.X are ignored.

But I have a feeling that there is a large number of such users.
