First, ignore kas1e being negative. You want Amiga and you know how Amiga works , don't need anyone telling you that app X on platform Y is better. Pointless.
My question to you is: What do you plan on using your Amiga for? it sounds like to want a massive upgrade, and I'll tell you that the X5000 is a MUCH faster and more complete upgrade that a maxxed out Classic.
I had an A1200 with PPC+256MB+BVision+Prelude1200+FastATA+.... But the AmigaOne XE was a much better machine. Just as incompatible with demos and old games, but much faster and more stable. Now I have an X1000. Very stable machine. Has all the drivers I need. I believe the X5000 will become just as stable and complete when all drivers and its OS gets fully complete. I believe it's still beta or something...
So my advice for you: Get the X5000. It will give you the same as a maxed out Classic but MUCH faster and easier to expand with new harddisk, memory etc. And you support the future of Amiga
If you like Classic, then it works better when not maxed out. Like 030/50+AGA. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

| Even if i have both - an Amiga 1200 and an AmigaOne X5000 i have to say the X5000 is more Interesting in the Moment because of RAW Power, Games like Reborn to Castle Wolfenstein, etc.
In the End any Amiga is a good Choice

Hi.
I have one X5000 and about 5 A1200 or so with various configurations. I'm very happy with the X5000 when i use it! It has no limitations compared to the A1200 but it always good to have a couple of A1200 also but if i could only keep one computer it would be the X5k.

| @Deniil715 I believe kas1e was right and explained whole situation. I understand it's limitations and do not have high expectations, however I hope simple things can be done which is enough for me. Mainly I will be coding some PHP/JS code and testing it on localhost before moving to production servers. Sometimes I might watch movies or play some classic and new Amiga games, but not too much as this machine going to be placed at my office, not at home. In case something is not doable I have X1 Carbon i7 and Mac on another table.
Today I did payment to AmediaComputer for X5000, with 4 GB, 250 SSD and Radeon R7 250 1 GB. I feel happy, can't wait for it _________________ Two X5000, A1200 Vampire V2, A1200 (NOS) TF1260, A600 (NOS) |
